Grandma just passed away after a short battle with cancer. Was doing fine, even had it in remission, then it hit all at once right after Christmas.

Whoever invented cancer needs their *** kicked.

I'm not going to sit at either table tonight. Technically I should be at the * hockey table but the thrill of battling all game and tieing it up with 7 seconds left was exhilerating. I'll just sit here quietly at home...

* hockey bar for me as well, looks like a good party there tonight. Played well against RPI, but had a couple defensive lapses and some... questionable calls AND no-calls (more the latter) for both teams tonight.

I'm tired of the "questionable calls both ways" line that's become common when talking about a game since that could be said of pretty much every single game ever played. Of course there were questionable calls both ways - officials aren't going to call every single infraction, so there's bound to be disagreement with however they decided to interpret the rules in a particular contest. If officiating is to be singled out as a significant factor in the outcome, then focus on the significant calls that likely had an impact (rulings on kicked-in/deflected off equipment goals, non-calls on blatant infractions disrupting scoring chances, ticky-tack calls that lead to 5-on-3's, etc).

My beef is when they don't call stuff- either way- and things get out of hand. I know I am weird but it isn't the outcome of the game so much as the principle of the thing. Mr ends up working more. After watching some of Lil's HH games I am a little more immune than I used to be about stuff at the elite level. HH refs can sometimes be scary bad and kids don't exactly get that permenant harm could be done from running someone starting half way down the rink. They only get that the ref has swallowed his whistle, Are we talking hockey in here?? :eek:
