Lil' is going on a mission trip to Traverse So. Dakota next summer. Anyone been to that area? They are also planning to go to some big Lutheran church in St Paul- to stay the night. Anoney around that area? The leaders were trying to go to Mt Rushmore but found out htat it would be too far. I think they are going to the mall of america instead. They are still in planning stages so I thought I would ask.

Ummm, you sure about that? Neither google, nor my SD road map list a town called Traverse in SD. There is a Traverse Township in MN and there is a lake Traverse on the SD-MN border. Greyeagle lives in St. Paul, he may know the Lutheran church if you know the name. If they are going to the Lake Traverse area, then yeah Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills are a looong drive away from there - across the state, and pretty wide state.

I assumed she was talking about Lake Traverse, but I just figured there must be a town there called Traverse, didn't bother looking.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 122: Autumn has arrived.

Does anyone have any advice for wiring audio/video stuff? I would like to have my satellite dish go into the living room, then from there have it wired through the walls so that each bedroom (maybe the bathroom :D ) have easy plugs to tap into whatever is on the dish. Or if I have 2 dish boxes, have one in the living room that is specific to another room. I don't want it to look messy with wires everywhere, so it would be nice if I could run them in the walls. Problem is, I'm not ready to tear up a bunch of sheetrock in order to do it, so I'm looking for alternative ways to get it done. If I can't figure out a way, then I just won't run anything into the bedrooms. Any ideas?

You can fish coax through walls pretty easily with a fish tape. Is it single story? Can you get to the attic or basement? Is the basement finished? If single story and you don't want to rip up walls you can route in the attic, alternatively through the basement.

If 2 story and you're coming down from the roof, you will have to open a wall some to get to where you can drill through the sill plate/floor.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 122: Autumn has arrived.

My wife and I had a terrific weekend in Breckenridge. The weather was as advertised: cloudless, blue skies with abundant sunshine. Temps in the low 70s during the day and mid 30s at night.

The autumnal colors were gorgeous. We drove through the Vail valley on Saturday. Stopped in Vail for lunch, hit a few stores and then made our way home via Tennessee and Fremont Passes. Close to the summit of Tennessee Pass we took what could well turn out to be the picture we'll use on our Chritsmas card this year.

On our way home today we detoured off I-70 and drove Mount Evans Road past Echo Lake to see more of the aspen in full, fall color. A great weekend.

GO AIR FORCE! SCUTTLE NAVY!

Congratulations. Check the water heater! (every time we bought a house the water heater blew in the first month.):p

That's okay. I bought mine in September and moved in the first week of October. I had to replace the furnace, and before the guys showed up at the end of the week I was painting the place while it was about 52 degrees in the house.

Sitting here in the Green Room. The musical act just came in to shoot a scene which will probably air at some point. When you watch, if you watch, we were sitting right off to the left. We were like, should we move? This is pretty fun.

Since I'm relatively new, how are you this connected to the entertainment business?

Good morning, Lodge! 5 days!

Has anyone seen the preseason rankings? I saw a top ten, on College Hockey News, I think, but nothing else.

Some of you might wonder why I care, because obviously "Championchips aren't won in November", but I have curiosity.

Today is the midterm exam for my students, but the good news is that in 4.5 hours it will all be over - except for the grading. You partiers have a great day!
Wow! Less than a week left!

I think she took it to mean something sexual. You know how those NMU'ers are. :p

Legal - the pancake mix I have only requires the addition of water to make the batter. It doesn't get much easier than that. :D
I've seen that type of mix, and really, I won't buy that crap.

I guess I own a house now. Glad that is over, now I have to start with fixing stuff up and moving in.
Congrats!!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 122: Autumn has arrived.

So this means that the get-together at my place is fully on for Friday night. Whether I'm home all week or in Houston, I'm having people over on Friday. I sent out an invite on facebook, but I know I missed some people. So even if you didn't get an invite, come over. (I didn't send invites to friends that are a long ways away, sorry mel and Bro Gin) I figured you guys didn't want to travel to get to my party. :p
The plan is to start at 8:00, I'm hoping I'm home by then with a chainsaw to cut up firewood and a keg of either Nordeast or Premium. If you want liquor, bring your own.

I've been to St. Paul!!!! :D ;)

If today was any indication of what the rest of the week is going to be like...I might barge in and yell, "Bartender! Make that TWO fifths!"

And BPH, I'll bring your beer that's still in my fridge. :D

Congrats! Welcome to the wonderful world of home ownership...

Heh heh huh huh heh HOMO-ner.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 122: Autumn has arrived.

You thought you had pawned it off on him for good, didn't you?

I figured he'd mistake it for something else after a few good beers. :o

I tried a bottle the other night, second chances and all, but yeah, still not that good. :o

So someone can drink it. It just won't be me. It can be bbdl's guest beer, if you don't drink it.:D

Eh, I'll drink some of it, saves me having to bring more beer. Though a keg of Grain Belt Premium/Nordeast sounds far better. :D

(and bbdl, if you need help cashing it the next night, I don't work Sunday.)

Also: * Cold Spring Brewery for putting out "craft" beer. Instead, concentrate on making Cold Spring, Northern and Gluek not taste worse than Pabst.

1. Yeah right. :p
2. It does, indeed.
3. Ditto. Hmmmm, move furniture in, drink more beer. I can deal with that.

1. Worth a shot. :) It's not THAT bad, but again, * Cold Spring Brewery.
2. Especially Nordeast.
3. Exactly. Though I'll have to do most of the furniture-moving either Friday afternoon, or Sunday after I wake up. :o

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 122: Autumn has arrived.

This is something no-one really wants to hear from their pilot.

tell them to quit giving me ridiculously early wake-up calls then :o

Agreed - I make them from scratch now after reading about how they make powdered egg and powdered milk that go into the box mixes. I think they're a bit better homemade anyway.

homemade pancakes are so much better then any premade mix. I make mine with bananas and oatmeal. :)
