Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 122: Autumn has arrived.

Pfft, noobs. The Catholic church we attend in Edina is older than your Cathedral. :p

A thousand apologies, brother!

Ahhh, the Basilica, proof of Minneapolitan whining. We want a Cathedral, too!!
Do you go to Our Lady Of Lexus?

Ah, it warms my heart, so far from home, to watch a little (good-natured) cross-river heckling. :D

because parents don't see kids as their problem. They see them as everyone else's problem. Don't get me wrong; I'm on your side here and agree parents need to be charged. I'm just curious what everyone thinks about it.

I am surprised how often people don't pay enough attention to their kids. Most people will cut you some slack -- they know how kids are -- so the least you can do is return the favor by keeping your eye on them, all the time, and reminding them how to act on a plane.

Of course, my kids fly 15 hours each way a couple of times a year, so they've already learned how futile it is to go crazy on a flight. (Cause it ain't gonna end any time soon! :D ) So we get the opposite: You bring a six-year-old onto a Mpls-to-Tokyo flight, or that new Hong Kong-Detroit non-stop we got this summer, and people look at you like, "You're not really gonna put me through this, are you?" Then my kid buckles up, orders an orange juice, and fires up a movie, and you don't hear from him for several hours. It's awesome seeing the  from people. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 122: Autumn has arrived.

It's more babies that bother me. Older kids can usually manage. Babies that sit on their parents' laps who can't articulate the pain in their ears in a way other than screaming is what is annoying. Do parents not get what their kids go through? And why on earth do they bring them on late night flights? In the past month I was on a red eye flight west to east with more than one baby under a year old, and then a late flight flying east to west that landed after midnight east coast time and the babies were awake, uncomfortable and screaming.

Ham Lake, very close to the Andover border. About a mile from Pov's. ;)
sweet, my parents live up that way. Come on up next time I come home.

How is that a good thing? :p (And how did I miss bbdl's location? :D)

Is the orange juice in screwdriver form? :p

(How is it that all of my post is in question form?)

Brent, that car you recommended awhile back has a **** grille. Why would they **** up the grille that way? Why?! Such a waste.

A what grille? Hard to determine what obscenity it is you are trying to say. The first one, not the second one.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 122: Autumn has arrived.

It's a vulgar word for "feces".

Ok, that was my inital guess.

You brought up a good point comparing the cost to the Charger or whatever, btw. But that Hyundai is still an excellent car.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 122: Autumn has arrived.

I only saw one used one listed within 30 miles of here (a '10 w/ 10k miles going for $25k). I don't want another grey car though, and I don't like that *'ing grille. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 122: Autumn has arrived.

I recently bought a Panasonic Viera P50G25. Amazing TV. I highly recommend the G25/G20 series (same thing essentially, just a marketing ploy to allow best buy and ultimate electronics avoid price matching).

My one regret: Lack of 24p capability. Not a big deal. THe jutter isn't that bad. But definitely shop around. Ultimate Electronics I'd say has the best setup for comparing TVs. They'll even let you bring in a blu-ray and test it out. They had Avatar on in the store and I could definitely tell the difference between the 24p and the non-24p TVs. Not worth the extra $400-$500 though IMHO.

Cunning linguistics, if you will.

Or cunning stunts. ;)

I have some sort of Panasonic Viera (42", bought a couple years ago). Bought it because 3 of my friends had the same model, and no complaints. I love it.

I would also like to mention that the 24p is only really noticeable when you have lots of straight lines in a slow moving picture (think wide panning shots). In an action movie, you aren't going to see a **** bit of difference.
