1 - get flights to Manchester instead :p
2 - with a little bit of notice, I bet both of us could come down and hang out
3 - Scarlet?

we fly into Manchester, so that will work just fine. :)

She's a couple? So, one of your bigger friends? ;)

yes, she's ginormous. :p No, she actually completed Ironman. :)

I know, right? Jeez.

Oh Scarlet, I didn't know you cared. :)

Blerrggggg.....

eh, at least the heat has dropped off here....

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 118: BoredboredboredBORED

boo, now who am I going to hang out with when I have overnights up there? :(

Alright Lodge. I need a favor from all you *kers. My friend Kris is in a wedding contest that if she wins, she'll get lots of free stuff. She's currently sitting in 2nd place and the voting ends today. Please go to this website and vote. She's couple number 8.

Maybe it's me and the fact that I am so *ing aggravated with computers in general right now, but I am unable to vote. Clicked on the link. Just saw a list with no info on any of the couples. Before I voted for your friend, I clicked on their link so I could see if there was info or a picture or whatever. Read their story. Very nice. Nothing on that page that links you back to the page where you vote. Or a link that says "Vote for these guys!" Poor web design in my opinion. I kept hitting the back arrow. Didn't go anywhere. Tried the bread crumb up top. Didn't take me back there. Closed that window, came back to your post, clicked on the link again, took me right back to their story. I'm sure it's something to do with my cache or something like that, but I'm way too aggravated right now to figure it out.

I got a new laptop for work. I've had a desktop for years, finally asked and was able to get one. A comedy of errors over the past 6 weeks, about the laptop in question being on backorder, oh wait, they don't make that one any more, the wrong docking station, etc. Our Interactive Svcs Group has a bunch of high school students interning for them this summer and they were trying to get computers and asked if they could have my old desktop. I was like "Sure, but you need to wait till my new laptop is set up." I'm waiting and waiting. Finally I ask. Another screw up with the docking station order and then I find out that this group took my brand new laptop and was having a high school intern use it. I was like "Um, what???? I could use MY laptop as my regular computer while I was waiting for the docking station and you could take my old crappy desktop for the high school intern. Thanks for asking." Not sure where they get off confiscating it like that.

Anyway, I tell them I want it now as I am traveling for business all next week and would like to have it. The guy brings it yesterday around noon, has me check to make sure that when I log on with my user name and password that I see my desktop. I do. Then all these programs start pushing through so he takes it, sets it up in an empty office so it can run all afternoon. I get back to me desk at 5pm, it's on my desk. I CTRL ALT DLT to get to the log in page, type in my password and it tells me it doesn't recognize my username or password. Thought maybe I typed it in too fast. Nope. Tried it on my desktop (which I still have). Works fine. No time to figure it out, I forced a shut down and left. Turned it on this morning, same thing. I called out Help(less) Desk and he's like "Something's wrong with your password." I tried calmly to tell him that the username and password is fine. I just literally used it ten minutes earlier to log on to the Micorsoft Web Access to get to my work email that way. I thought he was being quite the dick to me. I told him to go ahead and reset it. He does. Same thing happens. Ha! Knew it. I emailed the guy in our Interactive Services Group who brought the laptop to me yesterday because I think they inadvertently did something. He says "Call the Help Desk." The Help(less) Desk guy elevated my job ticket so I should be getting a call today. Just how I wanted to spend my day off. I was planning to jump in the shower and go do stuff. Now I have to wait. I'm so mad right now.

I imagine since Fark is viewed all over the world its more of an "international laughingstock".

She does look quite the crazy, doesn't she?

Now we've got a guy who thinks a Canadian college team could skate with the elite of D-1.

One of the Canadian Colleges that are trying to adhere to NCAA guidelines? Or one of the Canadian Colleges that allows former NHL flunkies to play hockey while they get a degree at age 28?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 118: BoredboredboredBORED

New Brunswick. I don't follow Canadian teams.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 118: BoredboredboredBORED

UNB actually can give ranked NCAA teams a run for their money sometimes. They're pretty much the only CIS team who can though.

Been a crazy day. 90 minutes to freedom. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 118: BoredboredboredBORED

Hi everyone, Happy Friday!

Torrential downpour out there, but that will not deter me from celebratory beer tonight. Celebrating the submission of applications to grad school and the end of BC summer class - and being 98% done with moving.
Yay!!

i think girl's birthday is today. she has the boys at hockey right now so i cooked her dinner. four lobsters (of which i shredded away the shells and pulled the meat). nine ears of corn and two lbs of melted butter.

(i'm hoping she asks me to share some of that corn!!)
Um... you think?!? Shouldn't that be one of the things you have written down somewhere?

Oh, and could you come make me dinner on my birthday?

Morning from work. Last day living in Boston (at least for quite awhile).
You haven't lived in Boston for 11 months now. ;) :p Welcome to New Hampshire!

Touché (though if you don't count Allston/Brighton as Boston either, then I haven't lived in Boston in about 4 years and change) :p

Ugh - I am a super crankyface today. I think sleeping on the air-mattress and/or couch all week coupled with being a girl and being the only person in the whole building that I'm working in have combined to make Godzill-ewe. Good thing the bf knows my weakness and has suggested ice cream and a last walk on the beach tonight.

While I do feel bad about your bad day, I couldn't help but laugh at this.

Time to start packing up my apartment. Ugh.

she thinks. she came here when she was "12" and started in 6th grade. she said her dad didn't really understand the forms when they were filling them out and he just made up dates/years/etc. according to the state she is three months older than i, but she says she is really, probably, maybe a couple of years.

--i don't like to write stuff down. i got married on a holiday so i'd remember. i forget stuff like birthdays and whatnot all the time. surprised i remembered "it" was yesterday, in fact.

She's older than you? Wow! I don't believe that. She looks like a teenager! :)
