Just saw this on someone's FB and almost puked (no offense 'diva)
?MSU girls are pretty,
Michigan girls are smart,
But it takes a Northern girl
To win a fellas heart.
Western girls are dirty,
Eastern girls are hoes,
But when you want a hot and smart girl,
Marquette is where to go.
Any man who reads this,
Truly has to know,
That if you have a Northern girl
Dont ever let her go?

FM isn't a very good poet, is he?

Evening, Lodge. I wish I could spend all day at the farmer's market; it's so much better than work.

Good for you. :)

Not to mention Quiz. :D

yeah, she was happy to see me. :)

We're going to a concert tonight. Opie Gone Bad. I really hope he does his cover of Sympathy for the Devil

I didn't know that Scarlet was really in WV:

Always thought my first night in jail would consist of fire and a bunny suit.

So that question mark at the end, were there second thoughts as he neared the end? Or was it more like the "I'm Ron Burgundy?" sort?

Walked down to the gas station a couple blocks away. That was a mistake. Holy crap is it humid out. When you walk outside it's like hitting a solid wall of thick, hot air.

Heh. Currently 70 dewpoint. Not exactly sitting outside weather. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 115: What sports do you watch in the off-season?

Reservoir Dogs, Raw Deal, and the Usual Suspects are all on right now... crap.

That's prime time mosquito weather there. It got to 80 in the house before I turned the air on.

And I live near a creek and a pond.

Bakunin: meh, seen those more than enough. Brock Lesnar fights tonight, so I'll be scouring for a free link somewhere to watch. :)

I've been watching the UFC prelim... a) that was a bloody fight, and b) I think that guy's arm might have been broken.

Honestly, I don't really like UFC or MMA or whatever at all, but watching Brock kick major arse is fun. Hopefully he's fully recovered from his illness.

Most of the fights are decent, and many of them are better than Lesnar's.

I'm just not into it. I'm just a fan of Brock in whatever athletic thing he does. He's a freak of nature.

It's bloody and violent - what's not to like about it? :p

He's certainly that. Plus the top of his chest tattoo looks like a dick.

... and there's a guy about to fight that's from Rugby ND... and his opponent is from suburban Denver (Aurora).

IIRC, Brock wears XXXXL gloves, and they have to be specially made. I don't think any other fighter tops XXL. It was mentioned in one of his first fights or something.

A guy that big and that built should not be able to move like he does. I did read that he's improved greatly in the kickboxing aspect of the fighting, so that could be interesting tonight.

His hands are basically big cement blocks.

He's switched to a lefty stance to emphasize his wrestling - not a bad idea given his ability there.

And the guy fighting out of Denver kicked the **** out of Lesnar's training partner - caught him with a blow to the temple early in the first round.

Lefties in sports like boxing/MMA are tougher to defend against, because they are less common (obviously) and righties have to change their strategy to counter the different stance. My grandpa used to box locally and his only two losses were to lefties. He couldn't figure out how to approach them effectively.
