Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 114: Who gives a...

it's not that I mind, because I like both Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks. But being that the finacee works at Starbucks, I prefer to see them thrive. And the donut I got was stale.

Oh well, I'll be back in Denver tomorrow night. :)

This would include me -- and it's not for their coffee. They have awesome chocolate chip muffins!

I was lucky though, when I worked at the office there was a DD on my way to work.

Ooh - Good thing you let us know. Matt and I joined BJ's Warehouse yesterday and they have 12 packs (or 18packs) of chocolate chip muffins (your brother was eyeing them - he was good though).

This.

Ask almost any New Englander who has left the area for an area not swamped by Dunkin' Donuts (see: Chicago, for example) and they'll tell you the first thing they do when they get back is go to DD. It's a bizarre phenomenon. Krispy Kreme hasn't had any luck here and you see few, if any, local mom-and-pop shops because there is such extreme brand loyalty to DD. (Of course it probably helps that DD was started in Mass., so there's some basis for following a "local" company)

You're right, but I'm one of the few who avoid DD as much as possible. There's a great local chain in Lowell called Top Donut that's fantastic. Family owned and run. Good coffee. Awesome dognuts. Hot broads behind the counter. Win!

Good to hear he resisted. :) Two tips... one, pull the paper off of the muffin, wrap it in a paper towel and heat it in the microwave for 30-50 seconds. The chips melt and it is absolutely wonderful. The other tip, only eat half the muffin at a time. They are really too big for one serving. Though on Saturday I did eat an entire muffin a bottle of milk on my way to NH, but I figure I have a little bit of an excuse right now. If you do this, 30 seconds should be enough in the microwave.

1:15 to go. Can't go by quick enough. Though, I am supposed to run tonight, to which I am not looking forward. Blech.

I don't think Starbucks is exactly endangered. :p

*snicker* :)
And it was free! Free BJ's! Woot! :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 114: Who gives a...

A stunningly gorgeous weekend in Breck. Temps in the mid to high 70s with only a few late afternoon clouds. Unusually warm for this early in June. Temps in the low to mid 60s would have been more the norm.

Now it's back to work through late next week before a nice five day break back in Breck with lots of family members accompanying us for the holiday festivities. I hope everyone has a good week.:)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 114: Who gives a...

Hi, Lodge. Today is my Friday, but I'm not pleased. Apparently, asking for Wednesday evening shift through Sunday off means "please only schedule me for one day" to my boss. Oh well, more time to get ready for this shyteshow of a wedding I'm standing in, I guess.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 114: Who gives a...

there was a Tim Hortons next to our hotel last night in Buffalo, but I chose not to go. I like Tim Hortons, but opted for bed instead.

Legal, what's your favorite place to grab a bite in the Charlotte airport?

Dude, if you have the choice between DD and Timmy Ho's, you gotta grab Tim Hortons.

Greyeagle's or Goldy's son (Sorry! I forgot which) wants to go to... UND to be a pilot.
GE and Meteorologist. You got the important part right though. :D

Because yours was raised right. :D
He's being raised a Hornet...not even close.

I don't think Starbucks is exactly endangered. :p
Nonsense...I have to drive nearly 5 minutes to get to one...

Well, for starters he has a girlfriend. As for the other two questions...I don't think he has any complaints. :p

Work should be fun tomorrow. After being locked in a cave for 3 hours I get to babysit an 18 year old (recent Edina grad BTW) with his overprotective high maintenance mother on the other side of the wall. And that little brat will not hesitate to tell her if he thinks I'm being too hard on him. Yay for me.

I dare you to tell him "shut it, cake eater" and watch mom throw a conniption.

She probably just needs some deep dicking.

And 18YOs need babysitters? Uh, wha?
