Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 114: Who gives a...

Morning Lodge,

So besides the earth cooling and the dinosaurs turning into oil what's happened in the 11 months since I've posted here?
Let's see... bunch of people had various illnesses and injuries including at least one shoulder surgery and one arm surgery. Priceless got told by the SSA that he's not really dis-abled  and all the crap that happened in the past two years didn't really happen -- but for some reason he still owes the hospital bills anyway. :( tCBG and 'Ewe are still dating, Scarlet is still watching TV and drinking martinis (with a hottie bartender :D ), Ralph is still riding his bike, Brent is still driving a forklift, patman is still living in DC and Sloe Gin is still flying, but now is with a different company and will be based out of Greensboro instead of Denver. Which, he knows he's not going to like because it takes him away from his fiancee.

Twitch moved to Alaska and bought a Jeep, LWB got a job and Greyeagle's or Goldy's son (Sorry! I forgot which) wants to go to..gasp... UND to be a pilot. I moved to Connecticut with Mr. Hit and we are waiting for the arrival of our baby girl in September. (well, hopefully sept, she's already tried to make one early appearance)

ETA - everyone still hates pants and loves bacon.

How have you been?

Today there was a tour of my college (which is Michigan Tech and is known for being a heavy drinking school) going through my dorm. The tour group turned a corner to see a very drunk person with only a sock on his privates trying to climb the walls by putting his arms and legs on both sides of the hall while singing the Spiderman theme song. I hope this persuaded the prospective students to come here. MLIA
What was it I wrote on your wall about that yesterday??

Ah yes.... This!!!

Spider drunk. Spider drunk. Does things only a spider can. Look out, or you'll see his junk.
I wrenched my back lifting something today. To say the pain is blinding would be a bit of an understatement.
Ice it down, best thing to do to it for now, then go see a chiropractor to see if he can't knock ya back into place.
A weekend without electricity sucks! 2012 is gonna be horrible. At least I had running water. But, seriously, the whole ***ing weekend, no power.

9 pm Friday, got back from softball game, showered, headed to bar, part way through storm rolled in, went back to my place to park in garage (threat of hail, bf wants to sell the car)...no power. So it went out between 9 - 9:15 pm Friday.

Saturday morning call: "no estimate on when power will be restored"
Saturday afternoon call: "power should be restored between 11:30 pm..."
wT's internal voice: "***t"
automated system: "... Monday, June 21st"
wT's external voice: "***k!"
automated system: "and 1:30 am Tuesday, June 22nd"

And so it went. Saturday evening come home hope for power, no.
Sunday afternoon come home, hope for power, no.
Sunday night, come home, hope for power, no.

Got home at 7 this morning and the clock by my bed said "3" so I'm guessing my power came back at 4 am.

I haven't opened the refrigerator yet. I'm frightened.
Yeah, that sucks. At least we have a generator here for when that happens. Not exactly the greatest set up though as dad wired the hookup for it so that it only runs like 6 things in the house so that the generator would be able to run longer on its tank of gas. Do remember though when we had that big blackout across several states firing that sucker up and plugging my brother's entertainment system into the plug for the Sump pump to hide out in the basement watching DVDs all night because there was nothing else to do and it was the coolest place to be.

Thanks! I'll have to look into it - especially since I'm jogging these days and I could use the extra attention.

Oooh - I'll have to look. Seeing as we'll be consolidating apartments that would be good information to have.

Yeah, its worth a look into. Students are always on the lookout to try out some of the newer techneques that they have just learned, so they can get the practice in.

When the first tourney? :D

I suppose I should count yesterday's games where the oldest kid worked me in three straight games. :o

Mrs. Gonzo, younger son, daughter and oldest sons GF played a doubles match that took them around 40 minutes to get to 11. Older kid and I can get a match to 21 done in about 15-20 minutes.

Yep, you're right, I forgot. :o Will you ever forgive me?!?

I also forgot that bbdl moved into an apartment for the summer with two girls, 'Ewe risked her BU rooting rights by taking a class at BC and Winger moved to the Windy City.

My apologies to anyone else I have forgotten to mention, pregnancy and thinking don't mix. :o

hockeyplayer is on his summer cruise going to Greece, Spain, Ireland and other fun places.

And it was GE's son considering UND, mine would die first (at his own hand).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 114: Who gives a...

question for all you east coasters.

I was in Reagan today and walked around a bit. Is everyone on the east coast a Dunkin Donut hooker? Starbucks was quiet, while Dunkin was just slammed with people left and right.

Dunkin Donuts owns the east coast.

Ahem. You forgot to mention that I am swamped at work and unable to post because I am making sure that the terrorists don't win. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 114: Who gives a...

Indeed, which is a **** shame. Dunkin Donuts coffee is like drinking burnt, sandy water. Plus, if you add up the IQ of everyone who works in every single DD shop in the country, you'd still be legally mentally retarded.

But their Coolatas are aight.

This.

Ask almost any New Englander who has left the area for an area not swamped by Dunkin' Donuts (see: Chicago, for example) and they'll tell you the first thing they do when they get back is go to DD. It's a bizarre phenomenon. Krispy Kreme hasn't had any luck here and you see few, if any, local mom-and-pop shops because there is such extreme brand loyalty to DD. (Of course it probably helps that DD was started in Mass., so there's some basis for following a "local" company)

This would include me -- and it's not for their coffee. They have awesome chocolate chip muffins!

I was lucky though, when I worked at the office there was a DD on my way to work.
