Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 113: Whutchu talkin' about, Meyer?

Hi Lodge.

First day back at work since the operation. Hope I can make it through the day. I have had a nap every day since the procedure, but don't have a comfy place to do that here.

Had a dad, assistant coach, ejected from a game at a soccer tournament yesterday. He IS dam loud on the sidelines and was out of line, but the ref really did suck too. First few minutes of play one of our guys broke past the last defender with the ball and was fouled really hard from behind just outside the box - no call. I would have accepted no card, but it had to be a free kick. Went on like that. Pretty iffy reffing all tournament, fortunately did not impact the outcome of any games (we suck and deserved to loose the two games we lost).

A hot, steamy week is headed our way in Denver. Temps well into the 90s over the weekend and more of the same for the first four days this week.

Played anothger reasonably good round of golf this past weekend. Shot 39-42-81 and had a back nine on which I didn't hit tee shots well for the first four holes, but then ended by parring four of the final five holes.

Hoping to get back out late Thursday for a round with a buddy after work. I hope everyone's week is getting off to a good start.

Cod (the real North Atlantic kind, not pollock cleverly marketed as "Alaskan cod"), can be found a few times throughout the year, usually at a premium over other more common sorts of "whitefish". Occasionally, getting surprised with real cod at a fish fry is a treat.

Haddock is actually fairly easy to find if you're willing to pay a little more for it.
The unavailability of Atlantic Cod might be why you don't see Scrod anymore. Scrod really isn't a species of fish, it's whatever was cheapest at the dock, either Haddock or Cod since they are (mostly) interchangeable.

Eating good seafood is one of the things I am looking forward to about moving back to New England.

Eff Red Robin in the A. Overhyped, overpriced garbage. Their food does worse things to my GI tract than Taco Bell, and that is saying something.

And amen on the 80/20 or less. Lean cuts (i.e. sirloin) do not make a good burger, unless you're mixing in some fattier cuts (chuck FTW!).

and I know we've beaten the topic to death, but their calorie info...

Whiskey River BBQ Burger - 1129 calories, 69 grams fat. Unreal.

Hit it with a rock!!! A big rock!!! :D
The transducer or the roommates?

Neither would turn out well, the transducer costs like $3000 and I'd probably be arrested if I hit a roommate with a rock. :p

RE the roommates:

Both have boyfriends, so I'm not going down "that" road, like so many of you assume I am. :p
I've met the BF's and they actually seem like pretty nice guys. I'm just glad that I ended up with random roommates that seem very easy to live with and are quite pleasant to look at as well. :p

and, hanging around apartment at night and watching movie clothes....wow

Have them invite friends over next time, one of them should have single friends

Pho is the bomb. Usually the best made stuff is in some hole in the wall place you wouldn't normally be caught dead in.

Not a big surprise some of your relatives are asian. ;)
