Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

dammit. I just found out that I have a meeting at noon, and now I don't have time to run out and get some lunch until after it is over. :(

We have a planned outage today and the company is providing a sloppy joe lunch for everyone. :)

Rather warm out today.

....and if your free hand is shifting while you drive, how would one text?

Also, for more information on "mofo", see GLM. :D The more you know......................

Should not have taken the cold medicine last night (though I legitimately have a cold). Woke up in the middle of next week and felt totally dazed. I did, however, go outside and do today's workout, despite the ridiculous weather (93 and not a cloud in the sky). Feel better and am enjoying a light lunch. :)

Wait, there are gas stations where people pump your gas for you?
and I thought having someone else change oil/flush coolant/replace brakes was bad!
Indeed, the only ones left in the Copper Country are BP's, I believe, and only the ones in Hancock & Allouez.

I just enjoy working on and maintaining my own vehicle. I spent way too much money on that truck to not know everything that is going on with it. :p
I'm still surprised that you let PB drive it that one day, and even were laughing at his shifting failure. Granted, you may have just been trying to distract yourself from the fact that I was driving.

That's when you drive with your knees.

Bakunin ctf'ed?

Technically, it was a DL (knew what to do, but failed at it), but you could probably call it ctf-esque. (board doesn't like "ctf"-ing )

To be fair, I haven't had lunch yet (this opposite hour thing is weird).

I'm sure ctf could find some sausage for you.

Ok, I'm sorry, but despite your valiant effort to mock ctf, that joke failed harder than, well, ctf. :p
I'm not sure whether or not to take that as a compliment...

There is no such thing as ctf`ing. Keep in mind that I can't say c t f ' i n g, because that gets censored.
There's MNS'ing, DL'ing, and PB'ing, but that's it.

Board's a b|tch.

And I'm sure I could indeed.

Is it night shift around here already?

Wow, I didn't think full-service stations still existed in the UP. I suppose some old fart retirees may expect it.

It's been a looooooooogggg time since I've seen one anywhere in the Detroit area; almost 20 years in fact. Granted, I've only ever lived in the northern 'burbs, so there could still be a few in the city proper, or off to the west, or downriver.

Lay off the reefer and pay attention - I'm on day hours (vacation) 'til next week. I'll be switching back to night mode at the end of next week before going back to work on the 6th.

I'm never seen one, anywhere.

Its times like these that I realize to what extent I'm still a down-home country boy.

I usually try to stop at truck stops for fuel. They run much bigger nozzles and hoses for the trucks so I can fill my 35 gallon tank in about 2 minutes. :)
