The DT's hiring, and I'm ready to leave Shopko.
Match made in heaven.

I better be your new favorite waitress, fools!!

Only if you wear a pillow under your shirt in the back. ;)

Sup Lodge.

Anyone know of where I'd go to get practice with a manual transmission? Some of the Jeeps I'm looking at have a stick, and I've never actually fully used one myself. I'm familiar with how it works, just need somewhere to actually practice with it without destroying anybody's transmission (or car) in the process.

A car rental place? :D

Hmm. Not sure if Anchorage has any racing/driving schools, but that'd be one place to check if you have some cash. Otherwise, bribe a coworker with some beer. :D

Evening, Lodge. To all those who said "it's hot out" or variations thereof... yes, it is. At least the wool uniform stayed in the locker - I "only" had to wear the white cotton denim jacket and trousers. :o (and on the plus side, I have three days off. :D)

What is it with you Midwesterners and not knowing how to drive stick?!

Evening, Lodge. Steak for 2 on the broiler after enjoying a jog with the bf this afternoon and doing some studying and mending.

Hey now, not all of "us Midwesterners" fail at stick shift. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

That's not a new episode. :p

As for stick shifts, I don't see the point in learning to drive one unless I can afford a Porsche.

Looking at a Jeep Wrangler for winter purposes, so it'd probably be a handy thing to have.

It wasn't really hot out today, guys. It's just that dew point was so high.

Gimme 90 any day of the week. Just keep that humidity out.

I know it's a good thing overall, but today I just couldn't stop sweating at work; we're talking Ted Stryker in Airplane! sweating.

Add to that, that this weather increases business, because the weather makes things not work anymore, and this should be a very long week for me. Mondays are usually the second slowest day of the week, and I didn't get home until 7:40 tonight.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

According to 'cco, it was 95 with a 60 dewpoint at 5pm. That's not particularly humid anymore.

1) I can drive a stick.
2) They're like c/d's.

2) Flat, with a hole in the middle? ;)

Yes, it was that hot out. :p Granted, I was in direct sunlight for most of the day, but it was toasty. Didn't notice the humidity as much though, there was a (southerly) breeze most of the day.

Also, re: rep from REDrocket: Most of them will stay bottled more than a week. Beyond that, we did secondary fermentation on them, and left them for a long time in primary as well.
