Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Why are you pluralizing here? Only one girl of that group approached, and it was the mother hen blonde. You know what my opinion of blondes is.

Admitting to something that is clearly wrong isn't being "man enough" - it's being stupid.

The group that fled the scene was a bunch of pansies with their undies in a bunch about our chanting. The people I'm concerned about are jealous/angry boyfriends. The motivations involved are completely different. Once you start disputes with other guys' girlfriends, things are much more likely to escalate.

There were two girls. One was more vocal, sure. That happens, obviously. Wingman approach.

It's not wrong.

BFs???? Those guys were not bfs. No way. They were random dudes. Guarantee it. How would I know? I saw them go up to the table. You didn't, since your back was to them.

Like I said, no shame in admitting you bricked. It happens.

You're wrong. Only one girl from that table came and talked to me. She was alone when she did that - if she wasn't, I would have noticed immediately.

Yes, it's wrong. Whenever GLM shows up to this thread, he'll confirm what I am saying.

The group of women - and the guys - left together. That's almost certainly not coincidental.

I stand by what I've said and what I did - and there was no bricking, unless it is your expectation that I be willing to throw down with some random *tards in order to hook up with some random chick that I don't give two ****s about.

Two girls. Both said hi, one took over from there.

Can't speak for him.

Uh, yes you can. Guys: I know a better bar. The Targeted Girls (not the ones that approached you): Okay! The girls that approached you won't rock that boat.

And you insist on the barfight result. You're insane. I've seen close to it all. There would be no barfight. None. Zero. At WORST, maybe a verbal thing, maybe. Maybe. And they would have backed off with a "F it" or "Not worth it" copout. But I don't think it woulda come to that.

There weren't two girls. Several women approached me that night, but the incident you mention involved only a blonde. She was alone, standing on my right. There was no one with her. Your memory is clearly *'d up. Given the fact I had only a watered down captain and coke that night, I trust mine over yours.

You're just speculating on this one. Whatever the truth might be regarding them, the obvious fact in all of this is there were territorial dudes involved.

Maybe it escalates to a fight, maybe it doesn't. I don't know for sure, and neither do you. What I do know is that the situation was likely to turn into some sort of uncomfortable confrontation. In my view, **** like that simply isn't worth the hassle - particularly with a 15 hour drive awaiting me the next day after dealing with minimal sleep for a week.

The one that was talking to you mainly was the girl immediately on your right, and yes, she was blonde. There was another girl to HER right, winging it, and did say hi.

And territorial dudes are mostly show and no go. And these guys were show. All show. Think along the lines of your CO version of Lee Hottie. No tan, though.

And the drive was your fault to begin with. So don't even bring that up.

If there was a girl to her right, she'd have been on the other side of Shrader, meaning there's no possible way I could have seen her - and completely nullifies any supposed interest she had (if she had wanted to address me and be acknowledged, she would've flanked the blonde on the blonde's left).
And territorial dudes are mostly show and no go. And these guys were show. All show.
You don't know that for sure. All it really takes in a situation like that is for someone to say the wrong thing (and I tend to say inflammatory things when I'm annoyed) for **** to happen.
And the drive was your fault to begin with. So don't even bring that up.
The "why" behind it doesn't matter as part of this discussion. It was something that had to be dealt with the next day, so it's a legitimate point to bring up as something contributing to my mindset.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Let's look at the results before I crash out:

1. You engage and entertain the woman/women. Good.
2. You engage and entertain the woman/women, they were paying a courtesy call, then blow you off. Bad.
3. You engage etc and the "Bros" call you on it, you back off. Bad.
4. You engage etc and after a false calling out by the Bros you get the girl. Good.
5. You engage etc and there is a physical confrontation. Even though we would win, we'd lose.

2 wins and a push, out of 5. Odds say you go for it, although it is my opinion that 5 never happens, and 4 is unlikely. 3 is possible, and will count for this theory, but IMO also unlikely. So it's 2-4, maybe 2-3. Worth it.

And I am out. Later all.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Keep in mind that at the time I only noticed the blonde. Unless someone else confirms someone did in fact accompany her over to the table, I will continue to believe the blonde was alone while talking to me - since I didn't see anyone standing next to or behind her.

So assuming that only the blonde was in play (which is what I was assuming that particular night), the expected value of making some sort of play for her is much lower. Blondes are not worth the hassle.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Good morning, Lodge; back from Hoffman Estates and back to the daily grind. Wasn't too happy yesterday when I woke up to find the scar where I had my staples removed had ruptured and left my hotel bed looking like a murder scene. Thankfully, two of my friends drove me to the nearest ER and I was able to be put back together.

Other than that, I had a great weekend with good times and great friends.

That is a serious bummer!
