Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

 And I thought we were having kids late! Rob will be 64 or 65 when our little girl graduates from HS.

Robbie's mom is a depression era baby, she was born the day the market crashed. His dad was even older, same age as my grandparents. Which means that my oldest brother-in-law is the same age as Ralph Baer and Rob's oldest nephew is the same age as St. Clown and tCBG.
Well, it's a bit different in timing. My grandparents didn't have my dad until my grandfather was in his late 40's, my grandmother was early 30's. That put my father to being born in the late 30's. Right now my mom's 70, she was 37 when I was born - an oops, the last of six (in fact, all but one of my brothers were oops-es).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

It's more about seeing the easterners come in than about the hockey. :p
:) Thanks, dear!
The easterners are fun; Denver was epic. We completely took over a bar. Some of the locals tried to shut us up; it did not work so well. :p
We are indeed a fun group - that night was awesome!
Ah, Pat's Pub. How I miss that place.
*sigh* :)
Head to Pat's Pub and hit on the Bettie Page waitress. Or head to the Appaloosa Cafe and hit on that hostess/waitress. Both still work there, last I heard.
Indeed - I'd also recommend the Wynkoop brewery (I think it's on 16th and Wynkoop). Really good food, decent brews, good liquor selection. I think we were there either between games or during the ND drubbing.
Wow. My mom was 3 when your mom graduated and my dad was 5 when your dad graduated.
Yeah, my thoughts exactly - my parents were 10. :o
shrader couldn't get served for a couple minutes because the bartender (from MI) was so mad. :D
Heh - I didn't know that, but that's awesome for a number of reasons. :p
Likewise - I tend to buy New Balances for my wide feet and fairly high arches.
And because they're awesome.

Lazy weekend in NH due to ridiculous schedule this past week. Watched Run Lola Run and Fletch for the first time and enjoyed veal parm. :)

I have a friend a little older than I am (he's probably 47-48 now) and his dad was a WWI vet. To put it in perspective my grandpa was a WWII vet.

it's tough to walk right when you have copy of the American flag tucked up between your * cheeks, like gmann.

ETA: or so I've been told.

For those of you keeping score from home an update on little g.

That is great to here!

Good afternoon, Lodge!

Does my brother-in-law listen to my husband and me? No. He decided to take a "scenic" route and got lost. Is it that hard to stay on I-94? Milwaukee is not that hard to drive through even during construction.

Going to the F4 in '06, there was an ***load of construction, and I took the wrong exit. However, I still navigated my way through the city without much of a problem.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

That is awesome! Happy Belated, little g! :)

Just got back from spending the day at the beach with friends. Yes. Beach. In the UP. In May. It's crazy.

so, were you able to walk on it or is all kinda slushy? :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

I remember that movie. It was *'d up, but nowhere near as *'d up as the Crank sequel I saw last night. :D

I actually really liked it. Sort of a "if a butterfly flaps its wings..." sort of thing. Loved the music too (which I believe was done by the director and Franka Potente).

Congrats to the G-family from tcbg and I. What a great accomplishment for little g to be walking around on his own! (I can't believe how big little g2 is!).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Nice.

It's 82 in the house right now, and I don't think I'm turning the AC on tonight.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Tells me what kind of a wuss I've become... 78 and humid its just too warm.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Yay for g!

The heat is fine. Actually, it's awesome. The high dewpoint (67, last I saw) makes it not awesome.

Lazy weekend in NH due to ridiculous schedule this past week. Watched Run Lola Run and Fletch for the first time and enjoyed veal parm. :)

Well, yes, NBs are awesome. My favorite shoes ever were the old, ugly, totally unfashionable but comfortable as a cloud New Balances.

And Run Lola Run is a great movie.

I have to say, I wouldn't mind her at all, but we've been friends for a few years and I don't see it going in that direction. There are a few things I think it might be...

Sweet.

Well, good luck, and if you detect a hint of her being interested, man up and pursue it a bit ;)

Beer is bottled. Now I have to wait a week. :o On the plus side, if there's going to be a USCHO get-together for Memorial Day, it'd be done by then...

Checked with mgmt, and they are not allowing grilling on that grassy area, and no adult beverages.

But I would be up for a get-together somewhere.

The humidity will beat your *** quicker than anything. In the spring I use the rule of thumb of 80 degrees. Generally once it hits 80 in the house, the AC comes on. But this is the first really nice weekend we've had, so I'm going to enjoy it. This week it's going to get close to 90, so that may be a different story.
