Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

'Morning, Lodge.
I have a friend in town visiting for the week, and last night we celebrated her arrival with a bonfire and drinks. I over did it on the sweet stuff, and combined with a very windy road back in to town, it did not end well. I'm on a big time re-hydration mission now.
It's cloudy right now, but it's supposed to clear up a bit and be really nice, so I am hopeful our beach plans for today still go through.

You're up earlier than expected. :D

How's the head, sunshine?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #112: Son of "Filling in for the night shift"

Well, I don't drink a lot of pop (a Dew with lunch, that's about it, besides my morning Monster).

And thanks for reminding me, I have been meaning to add the movie "Coffee And Cigarettes" to my queue. I've heard it's pretty good.

I think my best in coffee was when I visited a buddy in St, Clooud. Met up with him at Perkins around midnight, we left at about 6am, with 7 pots of coffee underneath our belts. We were a little wired. :o

No problem. I am here to help.

Morning all. I was up early today, out of bed at 7:30. I had some breakfast and read for a while and then went back to bed as I was too tired to do anything productive. I'm up for the day now (I think) but my plan of getting stuff all packed up by noon is shot. :(

On tap for tonight, hostess/manage at the pizzeria and maybe hang out with a couple of friends afterward. I wouldn't be working, but the owner is out of town. Which, unlike when most owners take off, will probably make things harder. It wouldn't be so bad, except that I don't have the energy I used to have. I think the last time he was away I got so frustrated that I told him he couldn't go away again until the baby was born.

must be nice. I see dong every day. :p
*giggle* I can too, well at least when the husband is in town. :o

That's why I do my long runs in the morning; they're done before bad weather comes and ruins my plans.

So for lunch, there's an IHOP, Chili's, Macaroni Grill, Steak N Shake, and TGI Friday's within walking distance of the hotel. Where do I want to go?
Um, aren't you in Chicago?!? There has got to be a local place around there to eat. Seriously, stay away from the chain restaurants unless you have no other choice.

Looking at the satillite it should clear off this afternoon.
Tomorrow will be an all day lake day. :)
Today it looks like it will be cloudy with change of storms all day. Tomorrow, clear in the morning, chance of t-storms again by 3. Which is typical for NC for about 6 months a year.

sadly, I think you're going to get the best meal at Steak N Shake

Star Wars marathon on spike and rocky 4 is on... this day is off to a great start. :p

Brent - the rain is supposed to end by 2 this afternoon. Then it will clear up a little bit and get windy / warm. Tomorrow will be downright hot compared to what we've seen this year.

Macaroni Grill is OK, but otherwise, yeah...

Of course, Bob could also do what legal suggested. There's gotta be some reasonably priced local joints.

in terms of calorie intake + other associated things, I think Steak N Shake is still his best bet. But yeah, find a local deli or something.

I think Chili's might be able to beat out Steak N Shake in terms of calories. Some of their appetizers are INSANE.

Most 'TGI McFunsters' type places have ridiculous portion sizes across the entire menu. Sometimes you can practically make a meal out of one of the aps.

I usually do.
Though TGIFridays has that "right portions, right price" thing, and it's actually semi-legit. It was still probably about 2 servings of chicken, but it wasn't a disgustingly large portion of food either.

I'm actually in Hoffman Estates; no one comes here unless they're on business or visiting someone. Wound up at IHOP for the second day in a row and ordered a decent chicken option that was only 510 calories.

Tomorrow, I might walk to the grocery store and just buy a deli sandwich.
