Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

kughhlmmaemme.

Just woke up. Helluva night last night. Great Ramones tribute concert, for those in the TC area, I recommend it if you like punk/Ramones. Then we hit another bar, mingled around there, had a great time, watched bbdl fail hitting on a Snooki look-a-like. Which was hilarious.

Time for food, coffee (with a little kick, of course, being a Sipper Saturday), Preakness, baseball, and more good times.

And 'diva, bbdl and I hate you for being able to eat Ambo tostada pizza.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

See, it's easy to drive them nuts. :D ;)
We don't buzz anyone on purpose (original post was hyperbole) but will ski/tube where it's calm and preferably near our cabin so if people happen to be fishing in the area well.....it's a big lake. Speaking of jerks I get sick of the jack-bag Al Linder wannabes bouncing their lures off our boats & dock when they cast. What's worse is when these jerkoffs are casting within a few feet of where my kids (when they were younger) or young nieces/nephews are playing.

One of our "house rules" if you will is to never cast at another boat, or at a dock if it is currently being used. (We have some rather abandoned ones on our lake that we fish near, but never hit).
My family skis/tubes as well, we just scan the lake first to find a good place to go to make sure we don't bug anyone, including other tubers/skiiers.
And I realize how that you were exaggerating, but with that statement you reminded me so much of those jaggoffs that just moved on our lake that you hit a nerve. ;)

The lad is going to the Visitation prom (with an Edina girl - he's aiming high :) ) later today so I guess we have to go take pictures and stuff.

So, there's at least one smart one in the family, eh? ;)

ETA: Wally, water temps are higher than that here, still wouldn't tube or ski without a wetsuit though.

I was pleasantly surprised by it. Normally, I don't like ground beef or lettuce on pizza, but this was amazing. :)
I also had the "Vacation?" fishbowl. That could have been trouble, as it tasted just like pineapple juice and none of the other fun things. I just had the one, though, and pretty much fell asleep about 30 minutes after coming back to Flashy's apartment.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

That's okay. We just found out Jimmy John's delivers to my place. MNS, bbdl, and I just ordered $35 in subs. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

$35? How?

MNS ordered a couple, I ordered the Gargantuan (with bacon) and bbdl ordered a sub with bacon.

You're missing the point. JJ's delivers here. This is like finding gold. Not too many places deliver here.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Jerk.

We have a massive problem with that on our lake back home. The lake we use for our annual fishing tournament (yes, my family has an annual bass fishing tournament the weekend of bass opener) is a pretty good sized lake. However, I swear those nouveau-riche Detroit 'burb transplants seek out our boats and insist on freaking buzzing us all morning. And there's nothing we can do about it, because they've bought out the lake association.
I get that we have to share the lake, but come on! If we're out there first on one end, keep your skiing antics on the other end. It's a 3 mile lake for chrissakes.

shoot one.

You realize every time you drink there you support an NMU grad, right?

/CEO is an NMU alum

yeah, but also support a BU grad in my fiancee, so it's ok.

that Chinese place is tasty. And dominos is fine except they *tched the last time we ordered from there cause of that coupon...

Ah, OK.
Marquette now has 2 JJ's. I think at this point you'd be hard pressed to find an area of town where JJ's won't deliver. Though, last year (before we had the 2nd one), the 3rd Street one claimed they wouldn't deliver to the campground. A little complaining to the right people on my part, and boom. Hellllllo, JJ's. (Then they realized that people were ordering from there at least twice a day between the office and the campers, then they were MORE than willing to come out there.)

It's the Ambo's thin crust. Closer to an actual tostada shell than a typical pizza crust.

That must have been it. Either way, it's freaking amazing, and it reheats pretty well despite the lettuce.

The Hmong Hut? Yeah, we almost ordered that this morning. MNS and I had that last time. He's now a fan.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

The Panda Whatever is decent, but yes, The Hmong Hut pretty much rules.

next time you're out here, we're taking you to our Chinese place. They serve everything on styrofoam plates. :D

Beauty.

Oh, and the Gargantuan (w/bacon) at JJ's? Wow. HELLUVA sandwich. The bread is like an afterthought. It is truly epic.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

I need to remember that I shouldn't drink more than one cup of coffee in a sitting. The afternoon crash gives me anxiety attacks. :( :o
