Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

I usually just get Dockers too, the iron free ones are the way to go. I have a couple pairs now that I have to iron every damm time I wash them and it is a huge pain in the ***. I'd just much rather wear a good pair of Levis or Wranglers than any kind of khakis. Its not that they're uncomfortable, but I always worry about getting them dirty and alot of times I'm out in a test cell or a shop area where if I just bump something I'll have a black streak on my khakis.

so you're clumsy?

In response to that post, I am happily single and I take offense to you thinking that I'd rather be dating someone. ;)

edit: besides, a girlfriends would probably have a negative impact on Operation Hot Roommates.

Oh, go bake me some banana bread. :p

In truth, I know that not all of you want girlfriends, but apparently I hooked a particularly miserable patron of the thread.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

They do make khaki type pants in black.
Just sayin'...
I know, I have some of those too. But I prefer my brown shoes over my black shoes, because they are much more comfortable, so most days I end up wearing khakis so I can wear my brown shoes without looking like a doofus with black pants and brown shoes.

I know, that is a pretty dumb explanation, but whatever, I'm going with it.
so you're clumsy?
Definitely. :p

Find a pair like your brown shoes in black. Problem solved. :p

I understand about the shoes, though. I find myself wearing the same pair over and over again because they're comfy.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

Ok, question:
This is something that bugs me here at work, and I don't think it really should, since it doesn't even have an affect me. At least once a day, my co-worker, who sits in the cubicle next to me will be on the phone, on a work call, and get a personal call on his cell phone, so he'll interrupt the person on the work phone and take the personal call. Sometimes for minutes at a time he'll leave the work call hanging. This just seems like such a bad practice to me. It still probably shouldn't bug me, but I guess it does.

edit: ok, so that didn't actually end up being a question...

but, but, but....ok, fine. Do you like nuts in your banana bread? :p ;)

At least I don't have to wear a suit.

I wear a suit Monday - Thursday. Friday is more causal so I don't wear a suit jacket or sometimes I will be really crazy and not wear a tie. ;)

Just got back from seeing the shoulder doc. I have a small tear in my rotator cuff tendon. It ain't going to heal itself. Surgery scheduled for June 1. :(

4-6 weeks in a sling, 4-6 months rehab. :(

As for today, I'm having surgery to repair a pinched nerve in my elbow at noon. :(

Good luck guys!
Any leftover pain meds thrown my way are appreciated. My Mothers Day gift to Mrs. Gonzo was weeding the flower gardens. I'm sore all over :(

Here is something really pathetic for you. For a couple days a few weeks ago both my arms were incredibly sore. The reason? pushing the little g's on the swing. :o

I'll trade you!
At least when pushing little kids you can stand. Pulling weeds? Not so much ;)

True. But getting sore from pushing kids on a swing? Either I am getting old or I am very out of shape or both. :o

That won't be fun at all.:(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #111: Filling in for the night shift

I just got a call back from the girl who's appartment I checked out yesterday. Apparently the room is mine if I want it. I have to go look at another one tomorrow, then decide which one I want. At $350/month, with everything included, why didn't I think of this sooner? (probably because its only that cheap during the summer when there is an excess of empty rooms around campus)

 It will be good to get it over with, but that is a long rehad.

And quit yer beetchin about what you wear to work. It's business professional attire here. No casual days. I'm in a suit. And heels.

'ewe - did I give you the banquet poster from last season? I have the one from this season for you (oh - mookie, I have one for you as well - sorry I forgot to bring it to you that Friday) but I also have two from the 09 banquet and couldn't remember if those were mine or if one of those was yours.
