Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #110: Offseason Is Here, So Deal With It.

Checking in from between classes. Despite the ridiculous amount of work I have to do over the next week or so, I don't feel to stressed. I've been trying to get a bit done each night so that it doesn't pile up and make me more crazy.
Amen. I'm not going to argue about Detroit since I haven't been there, but his "knowledge" about Red Sox tickets is bunk. I was talking about this last night after I saw his statements. I don't want to get into it, but basically the tickets available on StubHub this year are a) not indicative of how impossible it's been the last few years to get tickets since the Sox are definitely not the same team and b) most are standing room or under the scoreboard (literally - as in in blocks the view). Now I don't know about you, but I have 0 desire to watch a game standing up (with my view obscured by the overhang) for several hours. Plus SRO means standing way back, not just behind the seats. Anyway, that's more than I was planning to say on it, but let's just say the average Joe isn't getting to many (or any) Red Sox games over the last few years.STATEdude3 makes me laugh.![]()
Frankly, I think most of us Easterners crap on your cities because it's funny to see your reaction. I've been to MSP, Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago, Ann Arbor, to name a few and enjoyed all the cities. If I wasn't currently a full-time student, I probably would have gone to Detroit. While I'm sure it's reputation is somewhat deserved, I have to believe that there are some redeeming qualities of the city - museums, restaurants, etc.His constant defenses of Detroit? Yeah, he's a little over the top, but I overlook it because I got the impression that he works for the city in some capacity.
I'm not too thrilled when some of the more 'collar-popping' type Easterners take a dump on this place (or any Midwest city not named Chicago or MSP), but I'm not blind either. Detroit, in spite of what it does have going for it, is still a fcked up city that has a long way to go before it gets any respect from people who don't live around here. And I'm fully aware that's coming from a guy who grew up in a cushy suburb, not Detroit proper.

I actually don't love green tea, but you might try experimenting with a few different kinds and trying it either iced or hot with milk or without. I do enjoy a green tea smoothie - make double strength green tea, add to a blender with some ice, add a little milk for consistency and a smidgen of sugar (i'm talking like 1/2 tsp or less for about 2cups of smoothie), and blend. I'll sip on that for the first half of the day or more. You don't have to worry about it melting, just stir every once in awhile with a butter knife or straw.I'm trying to quit drinking 1-2 diet Pepsi's every day at work and switching to diet green tea. I miss carbonation.
