I don't think the ad is faked but I don't think it is from the original introduction of the product either. The typestyle is too new and it mentions microwave ovens. How many people had a microwave in the late 50's early 60's?
Good points.

Good Morning Lodge.

Got plenty of sleep last night and now I'm in a good mood. :)

Found out yesterday that I don't have to be home to work this weekend while my dad is away, because he is so far ahead of schedule with planting. So I have the option to go to Houghton to see my sister graduate. Everything will be free as I'd tag along with my parents, unfortunately, it sounds like a very unenjoyable trip. Should I go?

I'm going down to Allendale to see my little sister. At least you'll be going somewhere relatively interesting. I'll be going to freaking Allendale.

Go! How is it even an option not to?

I'm looking forward to heading to Penn State in two weeks to see my sister graduate. She's not that keen on the whole pomp and whatnot of graduation, but we've rented a house in the woods with our parents, brother, and her fiance, so I'm looking forward to hiking and relaxing for part of the weekend.
I am dealing with something similar these last couple weeks. Our miniature schnauzer is almost 14 years old now, and has taken a bad turn lately. I am taking her in to the vet to put her to sleep this afternoon.

Luckily, my wife and daughters are back in Texas for the week, and I can tell my girls that little Heidi died peacefully in her sleep.

An otherwise very good morning, Lodge.
:( Dealt with that in August. I don't envy you at all. Be strong.

Checking in from school. Major panic attack of the last few days that has resulted in crying jags, hours of phone calls, and other effects seems to have abated. Made lists upon lists and am trying to keep organized to combat any more issues.

Don't let the fact that Bakunin didn't get the joke upset you that much!

You should come watch a Huskies hockey game - I can bring my soon-to-be spare jersey for you. :o
Why would I want to watch UCONN, they suck.

The hole is filled now. Didn't get her to drop next to the hole, but thankfully there was enough of us there that we were able to spin her around and get enough ropes on her to pull here into the hole. She hadn't been eating much the past couple of months so that made things easier for us. Got her pulled up to the hole with her legs sticking over it, then got the ropes off and rolled her into it.
How did I miss a dead horse in this thread?
Sorry, I hope it doesnt make me a bad person that I have a rather cartoon image of a hole in the ground with a horses legs sticking out.

Have you found the one women's league playing in the Chicagoland area? I have a friend who plays down there. She started playing up here when her husband transferred here, then kept playing after moving to your area.
Ish. I have been talking to a team that plays north of the city. I live west, there is a big friggen city inbetween, Wrigley field and lots of traffic. They seem cool, but I dont know if I will kill people trying to get to and from that rink every week.
So if you could send me along information, I am just checking out my options and slowly lowering my standards. The SSWHL really is an awesome league. And I should just accept that most places in the us wont have something like that.
I will say the part of the league that is based in WI looks a little better organized, more games, more tournments, but then I have to drive to wisco. I never cared about driving an hour to games in Mass, but for some reason I dont want to do it here. I am sure once I get to know the area better, or if I find a team I like it will be different.
I think part of it is now if there is a ton of traffic or whatever I dont know how to get around it. Because despite the fact that the streets are gridded, there are quite a few rows that just friggen end, but then the SAME named road picks up 6 blocks later, *** is that!

That is not good.
Lists are my sanity, the good news is I have so much to do, that I cant really get stressed about it.

I ran into the same thing with the women's league down here. The rink where they place is really nice (it was built by some peeps my husband knows) but it's an hour away via one of the most frustrating, traffic ridden roads in town. (it really should only be 40 minutes from my house, but the traffic takes up an extra 20 minutes). Plus, since it is the only team in town, the entire schedule would be out of town tournaments, except the one they host here. I still would have done it, but my work changed my schedule to nights and there was no way to go to practice or games without taking time off. So, I did the team a favor and chose to have babies instead of playing hockey. :D

As far as the roads ending and picking up, you should be used to that you've driven in Boston. :p

Afternoon lodge.

Mother nature is angry at us up here in Upstate NY. Been snowing all day and there are patches of white on the ground. It's APRIL 27!!! Supposed to be more of the same tomorrow, but then up to 82 by Saturday. 88 back at school Sunday when I head back to prep our ship to depart in 13 days, however I'll be in a comfortable A/C chart room most of the day.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #110: Offseason Is Here, So Deal With It.

Made a unilateral decision today that I will be taking the week of May 24th - May 28th off from everything (no school - week after finals, not working, not dealing with friends/family (bf excepted, of course), not looking for a job). I plan to lay on the beach (provided it's sunny), cook to my heart's content, sleep in, exercise, and take care of me.

*thumbs up*

Mental health weeks are a nice thing to have. :)

That sounds like an excellent decision. :)

If I can get out of here in 15 minutes I'll declare victory for the day.
