Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Good Morning Lodge.

I got home from the game and post-game dinner last night at about 7 and started reading a book. Next thing I knew I was waking up from a nap at about 10:30. I figured instead of actually waking up and then not being able to fall back asleep again until about 3AM, I'd just roll over and go back to sleep right away. It worked. I slept straight through to 6AM.
I am on the east side technically. :D

Us John/Carl/Christian/Nel/Ander/Jorgen/Magnu/Helge/Rasmus/Nel-sons/sens still outnumber you folk by quite a bit.
Amen to that! Even though I don't have the -son/sen last name I have another very common scandinavian one.

Good morning, I think I missed a day. :o
I think the dock goes in on Saturday.

This might be a silly question since you're in Minnesota, but...I gather you live on a lake?

If you don't live on a lake you own a cabin on one. :)

Sadly I have neither. I do have a pond in my yard and I live adjacent to a 150+ acre marsh.

We have a cabin on a lake about 45 minutes from our house in the heart of the Twin Cities. :) At some point we will sell our current home & build a year round place on the lake property. I also envision a condo/townhouse in St. Paul - hopefully in the Cathedral Hill area - in our future. :) :)

This year I am thinking another kayak is in my future.

Slacker! Should have gone in last weekend!

You're right. :(

AH - I grew up on a lake in the summer and my parents moved out there full time about 8 years ago. They have these since none of us live at home to help pull the docks in and put them out every year.

Everyone who lives in Minnesota lives on a lake. It's actually a law here.

But us Schmidt/Schulz/Utz/Becker/Rauch types still outnumber you. ;) (ok, that's only half my heritage, more or less, but over half the state claims German ancestry as opposed to about a quarter Scandinavian)

Posters' gathering on the lake, and F5 party at the GE abode? ;)

Seriously, that sounds pretty much like awesome. You have good taste.

Morning, Lodge. One of these days I should figure out why my turn signal isn't working on my Jeep.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Is that the New York Yankees of the Bronx, Bronx County, Southeast New York? ;)

This would be the case, except the Yankees don't have a disorder of not knowing where they play or who they belong to;)

Rush hour traffic wasn't TOO bad this morning, decided against going the across the GWB, but instead going into Manhattan and taking the Holland Tunnel over to NJ. Not sure if it was better, but it was more scenic. Now getting stuff done (including sending $32 to NYS, ********!) before class, then off for pregame alcohol before the Yankees hopefully spank the Angels.

:D The current structure is a dump but the lost is very nice. My in-laws bought the place ~1962 and back in the day it was way out there, now it's almost a suburb. We often drive up just for the evening during the summer - have dinner and ski for a while and drive home.

It really worked out well for us, my wife and I were actually looking for a new house in St. Paul, when her parents found out asked us if we'd be interested in buying the cabin, it was an easy easy decision. Her dad had some health problems ~6-7 years ago and one of the results was they realized they needed to start thinking about the future of the cabin. We got a good price in exchange we agreed to keep it a family (she as 5 siblings) cabin for several years.

I don't have any good pictures on FB from the summer, here it is in the fall:

Good evening Lodge.

Xmas shopping for mrs. g right now and I am looking online at options for a trip to the Cancun area next year. Any recommendations Lodge?

Criteria = suite with an ocean view, beach, pools, sun and adult beverages.

Yes. I hear the Aztec Two Step hotel is just wonderful. Be a great place, especially for you.:D

Need more blinker fluid, obviously!

I'll have 'em rotate the air in the tires at the same time!

Move to Massachusetts - you won't need it!

Luckily, the horn works great. ;)

Sounds like our old family cabin. I think that if my folks had been closer to retirement, they would have considered purchasing it from my grandparents, but we would have had to do most of the work (and skip vacationing elsewhere) and other members of the family would have been there more often than us. It ended up providing a pretty good college fund for the grandkids, but I still miss it. :(

Hey Ralph, I have abrother who is an NYR fan as well. He has never liked the Flyers and, needless to say, after the shootout on Sunday he detests them even more.;)

Wow, very nice of your grandparents to help with school.

It was perfect timing for us, I've been been buying mother mining stock via an ESOP program since I started so we had a nice little nest egg to invest. We are in Chisago City (you apparently live at our halfway point) so one can't beat the location even if the lake isn't the clearest.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

If you got off your *** and got a job, you'd be able to buy your own car and not be jealous of little ****s like her that live off others' hard work. :p

Alternatively, why don't you just raise the price of sex so that your husband goes out and buys you one instead.

I own both mine and my husband's cars. :p

Good Morning Lodge! Another gorgeous day down here.
