Yeah... Surprisingly I am getting back all my withholding plus some from the Feds. Go figure?? All those child tax credits and move on work whatnot pay off... I ain't complaining ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

In most school districts, they teach kids that being different is ok, but reading books about people who are different is verboten.

In Texas?

FOOTBALL!!!

I take it you've seen the mock ups for the new Allen High School Football stadium in Texas. Holy Shibby would that thing make a lot of MAC schools jealous.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Ok, so, because I choose awesomesauce teachers and do really well in 1 class (so far, could be 2, which would render this whole rant a moot point):

I've set myself up to have 1 final exam in 2 weeks during our finals period. Sweet, right?

Wrong.

See, I'm done classes next Thursday afternoon. My final isn't until a week later, Thursday at 1pm. Am I going to stay here for a week, just to do it, when I leave for Europa in 3 weeks? Helllllllll no.

So, unless my teacher either lets me take that final next week, or just exempts me (I'm close, but not quite... yet. We still have 2 tests and a project due next week, and if I do really well, I'll get it.) I will have to travel 7 hours each way just for one. effing. final. Then go back home for a few more days before coming back to prep the ship for departure a week later.

This better work in my favor, or baby kittens, along with a few fawns, will die a horrible, gruesome death.

This should make you feel better.

I figured there'd be an army of Foxtons by now.

New, from RockStar Games: Army of Foxtons. Available for PS, PS2, and Commodore 64.

None of the Scandinavians had really started pouring over here from Sweden and Norway yet. So none of our ancestors here in MN really had anything to do with it.

Note to Lodgians: You wouldn't know it from the way folks on the west (read: bad) side of the Mississippi yammer on and on about their bland northern roots, :p but there were and are plenty of McQuillans & Fitzgeralds, Mancinis & Yarussos in our state. Mostly on the St. Paul (read: better) side. :p :p

So, I guess our schools taught us that the midnight ride of Paul Revere is a bunch of hogwash. It makes for a better poem though, Revere is easier to rhyme than Prescott. :p

"Histeria!" (the usually funny 1990s cartoon that I think I was the only one who ever watched) had a thing on that. They interviewed Longfellow about why he mixed up the facts. He said, "It was extremely difficult to find a rhyme for 'Prescott.'" :D

JEALOUS! I hate you now. :p
If you got off your *** and got a job, you'd be able to buy your own car and not be jealous of little ****s like her that live off others' hard work. :p

Alternatively, why don't you just raise the price of sex so that your husband goes out and buys you one instead.

I am on the east side technically. :D

Us John/Carl/Christian/Nel/Ander/Jorgen/Magnu/Helge/Rasmus/Nel-sons/sens still outnumber you folk by quite a bit.

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

The "made up holiday" you really want to learn about is "Evacuation Day"... and then you'll realize why I consider Massachusetts to a nicer shinier hell hole.
I think that is only in one county that shuts down. Everyone else gets it as a floater if they are state employees. It has to do with the revolution.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! thursday is here.

Howdy Kids
How y'all doing this fine morning. Spent the day at a Marina yesterday, the weather couldn't have been nicer for April.

Have you noticed that there are a lot of streets in DC with signs below the street name stating "Evacuation Route"? Scary.

Morning, off to Bayonne, NJ to pick up my mom and sister from their Bermuda cruise. Then back here maybe for class, before hitting up a later class of the one I'm going to be missing, then headed back to the stadium for the rubber match between the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Orange County, Southwest California and the Yanks.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Good morning, Lodge! Already got two loads of dishes washed, a load of laundry done, coffee made, and I feel f-cking awesome.

To say that's nicer than UNH's football stadium would be like saying tRalph is nicer than a nearly-but-not-quite frozen pond.

Is that the New York Yankees of the Bronx, Bronx County, Southeast New York? ;)
