Not sure if you are following the latest events but it looks like things could get interesting in Bemidji the day before the fishing opener..........

There's a ticker tape parade planned?

Weren't we just talking about these?

Oh, and courtesy of my hometown (or, at least, somewhere near there, as I recognize that store name): these.

Oh, and I wouldn't mind getting one of these for Valentine's Day... or any day, really.

Why yes, we were. Trying to not think about fattening desserts. Even though I didn't get home till after 7, I made fish (fish!!!) for dinner. Baked a piece of haddock with cracker crumbs. Side of whole grain rice made with a little bit of onion and a boullion cube and cut green beans in some tomato sauce. Sat down to eat dinner at 8-ish. I couldn't finish it all so I put it in a microwave container and will see if I'm in the mood to eat it tomorrow. So, I think I ate kind of healthy and didn't eat it all, so that's good. I tried to take the stairs all day today when I could. Of course, I did eat two girl scout cookies for dessert. But only two. I have several more left.

ETA: 'diva, that last photo is awesome!

Nice! Sounds good! We have a box of girl scout cookies in the fridge, and thank goodness they're a kind I don't really care for, so there's no real temptation there.
I had a ton of vegetables that were nearing throw-away stage, so I made veggie burritos. I made two, thinking I could take one tomorrow to school for lunch. Let me tell you, it took some kind of willpower to not tear in to that second one. For me experimenting, those bad boys were pretty darn good. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

today for lunch i left work and went to the borders bookstore by scarlet's work to look for stuff. didn't find anything so i walked back via newbury st. as i passed the outside parking lot i slowed down, as i saw an asian girl leave a bldg ahead and wanted to get behind her for a bit... little did i image what i would see:D :D :D she had a short short dress and boots up over her knees. as she walked the dress was so short that you could see the curve of her butt break over her leg. even though mookie stayed 10+ ft behind her to get a good view, i still feared i would bump her (:p  ), so after 20 seconds i passed her and kept walking-but stopped at bostone pizza and checked the watch like i was waiting for someone and turned back [hoping to catch a shot of clam from the front...] no dice, but man was the view from the back fun ;) never know what kinda fun big asian grrrls will provide.

I'm glad someone can leave the office at lunch. :o :p

Did you order your ticket for next Friday?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Veggie burritos, baked fish, etc, all sound better than the grilled turkey olive burgers, baked sweet potato wedges, and steamed carrots I had for dinner tonight.

Methinks after the Fifth-Third 25K, I'm driving myself to Steak-N-Shake and eating the most decadent thing on the menu.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Same principle applies. I was a non-degree seeking student when I dual-enrolled at Michigan during high school, and that's what I was told to do. They're likely to be sympathetic if you mention that you weren't able to enroll for the class ahead of time, because of your non-degree status.

The multiple schools part is tricky. You could always try contacting the professors right now to see how they'd feel about giving you an override into the class, instead of waiting for the first day when you will actually be able to get the override and register for classes.
Thanks for this! I'll look into it this week. BC may have answered all my questions, it's too late and I'm too exhausted to deal with any more school stuff tonight.
Hi kids. Still here at the office. Am beyond overwhelmed. Nothing bad or major, just a lot of work. Keeping me here late. Am freaking out a bit over the copious amounts of work.

So earlier today at our department meeting, we were talking about how I'm here late and am opening job numbers instead of the department admin and why that is and I was explaining that I have so much to do during the day and if that's when I get around to it, that's when it is as well as coming in on the weekends to input my time as I have no time during the day to do this. My boss, who I do really like a lot and trust, makes a wise *** remark in a joking fashion about maybe if I didn't leave at 5pm on Thursdays to go meet my friend for a drink every week I wouldn't have to come in on the weekends. That remark really bothered me as I sit here at 6:11pm still with work to do and she bagged out of here before 5pm. *sigh* Back to do a few more things before I leave!
I'd be royally ****ed about your bosses comment. Even comments made in jest can be taken the wrong way if they're mentioned out of context. Besides, aren't you supposed to leave at 5?
Oh. Hell. No.

So, after clearing it with my Business Law professor last week that I could take my business law final tonight, he is no seemingly going back on his word and not letting me. This would be my only final next week, and I won't drive 7 hours to take a ~40 minute test. So, I've pulled up an email we received from our assistant dean that if we have 3 tests scheduled for one day (which I do with this class, adding to my argument, even though he doesn't know that 2 of those aren't being given, heh) we should try to work with the professor to reschedule. This professor will get owned tonight.
Nice! Congrats on the victory. I keep every email as you never know when one will come in handy.

Evening, Lodge. Had my "cooking audition" tonight. No word, but I don't think I got the job (despite leaving my apartment quite early, I ended up stuck in traffic thanks to the Bruins and Sox), so I was a bit late. I am hoping that my awesome food will over come that, but I'm not feeling particularly hopeful.

Then had dinner with the "best friend" (she's been MIA since before Christmas). This is the one that was married in October. Well it was a 3 hour dinner because we had much to catch up on and I was exhausted afterward. Let's just say she and her husband are living in an "alternative lifestyle" and after talking about it for awhile, it's just a lot to process. :o

So between those two events, I don;'t feel like doing anything other than vegging on the couch and watching the B's (and then some other crappy tv).

Edit - I wish Scarlet had a helicopter.

It's overcast and about 40 here in Anchorage, par for the course this time of year.

An ice cream truck just went by

One would think.

Fingers crossed for you!! They have to understand about game traffic given where they live and if they don't, they may be too weird to want to work for.

Alternative?? As in.....wait, never mind. Not sure I even want an explanation.

Me too! That would be way cool.

I agree - and I was there at 5:50 (for 5:30 dinner). They live right next door to the Kennedy house in Brookline. It's a HUGE house with a mini-back yard! Beautiful kitchen...6 burner stove ... covered with mail and dust. :( We'll see, but I'm hoping. The pay would certainly be appreciated.

There was a TV show about the subject in 2008 on CBS (lasted one season, took place in the 70s). It was a lot to deal with, even as a friend. I don't judge, but sometimes I just get overwhelmed. My life is blissfully boring by comparison.

Riding in a helicopter is on my bucket list.

Swingtown. I watched every episode, was bummed when it didn't get picked up. It was well done.

Figured you, if anyone, would get the reference. Always meant to watch it (got pretty good reviews), but never got around to it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Well, that was a good night. Bruins win in OT (a highly entertaining game) and the Sox pull it out in the bottom of the 12th. Good times. Now it's off to bed. Need to get in the office early tomorrow as I have another million things to do, but these wins helped my frame of mind tonight.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

So, it has been a pretty good day. Found out I'll be an Assistant Navigator on our cruise to Europe this summer, so I'll be doing lots of work associated with navigation... creating voyage plans and correcting the charts we'll be using. It'll be a ton of work, but it shouldn't be too bad and the people I'm going to be with are all good workers for the most part.

Now I'm working all night on a voyage plan for one of my classes and then maybe studying for 2 tests I have tomorrow morning, otherwise it will be cramming right before the tests. Oh well, tomorrow is my last day for the semester, then its to the bar tomorrow night and driving home Friday.
