Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Still having trouble trying to get registered for classes this summer. Apparently I'm supposed to just wait until the first day of school and just see if there are any openings. I am. worried that all the classes and the schools will be full. :(

Even if a class you want to take shows up as being full, go for the first day and ask the professor for an override afterward. It works most of the time.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

My boss is still in China. I've accomplished more work today than I do on an average day. It's pretty out. I think I may be leaving early to go watch Michigan softball. The big question is, do I take my dog and see how she does (knowing we may have to leave), or do I remain patient and wait until she's better trained to take her to a game? She does great with people, even handled my part over the weekend. My concern is if there are other dogs there, she may lunge for them and/or bark. She's not aggressive...just excitable.

Or not. Stupid meeting with MVDB (most valuable ******-bag as my former co-worker and I have named him)

Bummer. seems bad to waste the day all cooped up inside. Pretty darn nice out right now. I might go for another run here today. get my mind off of some of the homework I'm doing.

Usually, but I'm a non-degree student, so I don't have the standing that other degree-pursuing students might have. Plus, there are 4 colleges in the area offering the course (at varying dates - summer semester is very loosely defined here, classes start as early as 5/17 and as late as 6/1). It's just frustrating since I feel like no one has been particularly helpful and this is important to me... :o

Back from the dentist. Finally got the fake tooth in. Hopefully it doesn't get loose this time.

Cooking a chicken in the oven and I just got an f24 error code. So I called Thermador, it means a stuck key or bad control bd. So I ordered a keypad from Appliance Pro's. We'll see if that fixes it. Now I'm cooking the chicken on the grill:D

Same principle applies. I was a non-degree seeking student when I dual-enrolled at Michigan during high school, and that's what I was told to do. They're likely to be sympathetic if you mention that you weren't able to enroll for the class ahead of time, because of your non-degree status.

The multiple schools part is tricky. You could always try contacting the professors right now to see how they'd feel about giving you an override into the class, instead of waiting for the first day when you will actually be able to get the override and register for classes.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Hi kids. Still here at the office. Am beyond overwhelmed. Nothing bad or major, just a lot of work. Keeping me here late. Am freaking out a bit over the copious amounts of work.

So earlier today at our department meeting, we were talking about how I'm here late and am opening job numbers instead of the department admin and why that is and I was explaining that I have so much to do during the day and if that's when I get around to it, that's when it is as well as coming in on the weekends to input my time as I have no time during the day to do this. My boss, who I do really like a lot and trust, makes a wise *** remark in a joking fashion about maybe if I didn't leave at 5pm on Thursdays to go meet my friend for a drink every week I wouldn't have to come in on the weekends. That remark really bothered me as I sit here at 6:11pm still with work to do and she bagged out of here before 5pm. *sigh* Back to do a few more things before I leave!

Really? Leaving on time one day a week is really going to make that much of a difference?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Oh. Hell. No.

So, after clearing it with my Business Law professor last week that I could take my business law final tonight, he is no seemingly going back on his word and not letting me. This would be my only final next week, and I won't drive 7 hours to take a ~40 minute test. So, I've pulled up an email we received from our assistant dean that if we have 3 tests scheduled for one day (which I do with this class, adding to my argument, even though he doesn't know that 2 of those aren't being given, heh) we should try to work with the professor to reschedule. This professor will get owned tonight.

Now that is putting your law class to use. :D Good Luck!

If I was d-bag prof, I'd be proud that you were on top of that paperwork like a lawyer and let you take the exam. ;)
