Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?
i worked in a cherry canning factory for a couple of summers. mind numbing. 12 hours shifts, but the pay was pretty good. talk about druggies. the supervisor was strung out of cocaine. breaks were for smoking dope. I have no idea what the line women were one. something coma inducing. I have a "good" job : testing the cherries as they came off the line. at least I got to walk around and then do the lab tests. tested them for size, hardness and sugar content. yeah. for real.
You know, that annoyed me as well when I was a cashier at HD. I hated telling people I couldn't give them anything else, and having them look at me/treat me like I was purposely denying them just to be irritating when, truthfully, I would have liked to have that option to offer them and I was held powerless by the status quo.
I HATED that job. Longest summer of my life.
