Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 107: Now What??

So I was in the other Portland last week on vacation and ran into Fred Meyer. Literally. He has grown up and dropped the diminutive, by the way. http://www.fredmeyer.com/Pages/default.aspx

Fred Meyer in Alaska is made of win. Get a rewards card and for every $100 you spend you get a 10 cents per gallon discount on gas. You can even stack the rewards and get a bigger discount if you'd like. Prices are quite respectable as well, competitive with Wal-Mart if you keep an eye open.

Considering gas is $3.33 right now, that is huge.

So, I've come to a truce with the parents. I've spoken to each of them in the last few days, and things are at a shaky state of peace again.

As for their other daughter--she's being a twatwaffle. She took me off Facebook and won't answer any of my messages wondering what her deal is. Whatever. Whattheheckever.
Good to hear about the truce. As for wine and ratatouille, always a good choice.

Now it's Matt's vs. 5-8 Club Juicy Lucy Food Wars. :D

I heart Camille Ford, BTW. :)
That was a good episode; I wanted both burgers.

True. It is kinda cool.

Honestly, Matt's is such a dive, but that is what makes it awesome. Lovely grease.:D
I thought Matt's Jucy Lucy looked a little more appetizing, now I know why.

Evening, Lodge. Felt good to get out of the house tonight... however, my mom called when I was out, and now I have to bury another one of my cats. RIP Devon... at least you got to spend your last couple years in a home, rather than a shelter.

You can do that at a lot of stores in the Upper Midwest too (at least) - Cub Foods and Econo Foods both offer similar deals, as do their local competitors.

Which ended up winning?

I'm sorry, Bob. :(

Also - good luck to you and the apartment, 'ewe. :(

Matt's uses only American cheese.

The 5-8 offers options, and the amount of cheese is roughly doubled.

I am completely on the fence. Sometimes I like one more than the other, and vice versa. Depends on my mood.

Matt's won.

General consensus was that the 5-8 was too overpowering with volume of beef and cheese, and the cheese at the 5-8 was like ooze, where as the cheese at Matt's was liquidy goodness that soaked the burger. That's what I interpreted it as.

Not saying the 5-8 was bad, but it's just....different.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 107: Now What??

I was discussing the Juicy Lucy competition with my brother last week. He told me that my mom used to make them all the time back before I was around. It sounded as though they became most popular around here, but that my mom started making them long before we moved out this way. I don't know why, but she stopped making them when I was around.

she'll get hers. Don't worry.

Got an e-mail for one of the jobs I applied for; they filled the position internally. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 107: Now What??

I am listening to a very drunk, loud neighbor across the lot rambling about "I work now! I'm a manager!"

And having a relaxing shot-and-a-cube on my patio. I heart laptop/wireless.

Gorgeous night out, too. Absolutely gorgeous.
You're a Manager!!! :p

That's the one at GVSU right?? I'll be going up there for the spring game in a few weeks, want me to deliver a message?? ;)

Very nice descriptive word there.

Scarlet - about 2-3 inches. Really upset, but trying to handle it as best I can. Nothing ruined, just waterlogged.
ugh. Hang in ewe.

Still raining, still dreaming

One nice thing about the rain, is green grass. Its really greened up in the last 2 days. But their is water every where, I guess I wouldn't be in the garden anytime soon

Down to a mizzle here but at it's height the water going down our hill was a sight! Looked like a raging torrent.
