Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

I would say thanks to that if I were you:p

I was more freaked that she thinks that kids smoking and drinking should have no consequences. Heck, HS Srs have consequences for that and they are doing a real graduation. Bottom line is the lady is dumb as a rail* when it comes to keeping any semblance of discipline and this isn't the age to tell kids there are no consequences for their actions.

*Mr's line- dumb as a post you can stand on your own 2 feet. Rails can't even do that.
:o I didn't think of that. They very well can have consequences, like not attending graduation.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of an angry, pregnant legal. ;)
You don't want to be on the wrong end of any pregnant lady, believe me their hormones make them downright deadly!

I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of any angry legal...pregnant or not :p

Just checking in from school. Totally overwhelmed this week.
Meh, I'm not usually that scary. :o

Hope your week gets better!

I remember party lines.
I do too. We had one when we first moved to NH. (Before tCBG was born) We didn't ever have the alphabetical phone number though.

Good morning.
Fillet + Jameson = good time at Mancini's last night. Then the Wild had to go and ruin the evening. ;)

I read your post like this:D You lush
OMG - this kind of breakfast needs to happen. Sounds heavenly.
I can't remember ours but I know we had one. Imagine- when we first had a cell it was as big as a brick
Yup - my dad had the bag phone and he was super excited because he could take it on the ski slope when he was on-call. If he got paged, he could call from the chairlift. Of course that + his ski patrol pack added about 15lbs of weight to him when he was skiing - talk about a workout!

Taking a break from studying and homework. Feeling slightly better about the next few days (2 exams, 2 quizzes, and 2 homework assignments). Finished 1 quiz already (online quiz using BlackBoard and 1 HW done). 2nd HW shouldn't take too long and the studying is just neverending :o Is it Friday at 3pm yet?!

I'm kind of surprised with so many of the responses of people calling parents when they get home from a trip/travelling as adults. I guess I never even considered it, and I don't think my parents did either. If I called my dad to tell him that I made it home I would a response of "Yeah, so why are you calling me about it?", my mom would say something like "Um, ok, thanks for calling, I guess".

Ditto. My parents are "No news is good news."

There's a radio station in the UP in my home town that has a similar setup Monday through Saturday for three hours in the morning... "Telephone Time." Call in, say what you have for sale or are looking for, give out your number on the air, and people can contact you.

It's EXTREMELY popular in the community.
Well... it is the UP!!! :p

And this is worse than a non-pregnant lady how? :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

In general and for no particular reason my (freaky) inlaws will call to check in on us. Not a problem right? I mean all of us talk to our parents or in laws on occasion right? Here is an example of last night...........the home phone rang while we were eating dinner. No voicemail was left. Mrs. g cell phone rings. no voicemail. My cell phone rings. No voicemail. Home phone rings. No voicemail. Mrs. g cell phone rings. no voicemail. My cell phone rings. No voicemail. Home phone rings. No voicemail. Frustrating but quite comical.

Eventually when one of us answers the phone when they attempt to call later in the evening we will ask (knowing full well via caller ID that they called) "did you try calling earlier?" The reply is usually "no, but are you guys OK?" They think something terrible has happened to us because we failed to answer our phones. Idiots. :)

The correct answer is "no, its not OK! The house blew up! They had to re-route our phones to the Motel 6."

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

An absolutely terrible day began when the phone rang a few minutes before eight o'clock. The news was that one of my wife's closest friends suffered a heart attack late Sunday night and was found dead yesterday afternoon. Our friend lived alone and that accounts for the time lag between the heart attack and the discovery of the body. We've been told an autopsy is going to be performed.

My wife is devastated and I'm doing all I can to console her. If you have room on your prayer list for my wife I'd appreciate your putting her on it for the next several days. Thank you.

back in high school i knew this kid who's dad was some corporate big wig somewhere.. i was in his car one day and he told me that in the box on the floor was his dad's car phone. i opened the box and sure enough, there was a rotary phone sitting on the floor. he told me to call my mom, so i did (probably the last time too :p). had to run the circle and couldn't lean back because the cord wasn't that long.

first experience with a car phone - 1985 ;)

Free night without homework so I'm going to work out for at least an hour. Hopefully hour and a half. Huzzah!

Sorry to hear that shot. :(

I heard back from my realtor/godfather after work. My offer on the house I want has been accepted by the owners. Now it goes on to the bank to see if they will accept it. So the bank now has my offer and another one that we are 99% sure is lower than mine. Still far from over, but this is definitely a step in the right direction! Keeping my fingers crossed!
