Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

If I were his wife, he wouldn't be going anywhere this weekend because he'd be in the hospital. (yeah, not sure how I'd manage that being on bed rest, but I'd find a way, maybe my cousin Vinnie could help!)

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of an angry, pregnant legal. ;)

Just checking in from school. Totally overwhelmed this week.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 106: My Team I Do Deeply Dig

Are you guys coming up to watch NMU this weekend?

I wish. We're tapped out after the quick trip to Detroit last Saturday. :(

We can't get the time off to skip out Friday either.

I would be there in a heartbeat if I could though.

Oh well. I guess I'll buy someone else a beer then. ;)

Yep. Les, and any Extras know about the issues I've dealt with regarding my mother. She has no problem driving five and a half hours to see her boyfriend's daughter, but the extra hour to see me isn't worth the time.
Yeah, but wouldn't that require her to enter and exit Wisconsin twice?? ;) Sometimes you just don't wanna wipe your shoes off that much. ;) :D

When Mrs. g takes her 4th grade class on field trips she is usually nervous and stressed. She views these kids as one of her own and takes personal accountability to ensure that nothing bad happens. Granted she usually has a couple chaperones to assist but it is ultimately her responsibility for the students safety. She is always fearful of one of the kids wandering off or something worse. I fear for the kid that steps out of line. Mrs. g is tough as nails and doesn't take any crap. Believe me........I know. ;)
She gave you "The Look" and made you go stand in a corner this week, didn't she?? :D

Let me add my name to the list of people who always called his mother when he got somewhere. Due to the cost of long distance phone calls when I was in college, I called person to person and asked for myself. I never was there. ;) Thus my mother would know I arrived safely with it costing a dollar or whatever.

I remember party lines.
I don't know if this is the same "party lines" that you are referring to, but I specifically remember when I was younger that my grandparents would always listen to "party line" on the local radio station every Saturday morning. Party line was basically a radio version of the classified ads, if you needed to sell something, or if you're having a garage sale, you called the radio station and they put you on the radio to advertise it. I don't know why my grandparents listened to it, I'm pretty sure they never tried to buy anything from party line.

:D A party line is a phone line that is shared between multiple residences.
