we've got one of those... I did the same thing when I was here late one night waiting for rec league vball... thank god I noticed before it got out of hand. Supposedly if the alarm ever goes of because of a microwave they'll take all the microwaves away at work.

Hint for next time: set it for 2min, or listen for the pops to get >5 seconds apart. Trust me, I was one of those kids that cleared out an entire dorm building because she set a bag on fire, so I've been super careful since then.

Aaaaaand, I officially have the place to myself for the weekend.

Well, that, and a story similar to bb_dl's--the microwave in my dorm room my second year was insane. Having been used to a microwave at home where the "popcorn" button was the safe, reliable option, that's what I used. BIG mistake. Never again.

I was standing next to it, listening for the pops, I took the bag out after no pops for 3 seconds! Which was still about 30 seconds before the timer would have gone off (or after being the microwave for 2:10). I don't know what else I could have done.

At the place I used to work, this one woman would burn her popcorn on purpose. She said it gave it flavor, otherwise, she didn't like it. Once the divisional president said something to her about it, she never did it again.

I don't prefer it and I usually avoid it, but for some reason it sounded good today at lunch, so I got a bag from the vending machine. At least it was only $0.60, since it is all in the garbage now.

She is probably one of those people who likes to totally burn her marshmallows when making s'mores too. I like my marshmallows toasted and golden but not a lump of charcoal. If that's how you like it why not just eat charcoal instead? :confused: :D
