First time it snowed while I lived there it was a dusting to half an inch. I happened to need something from the grocery. I could not believe what a cluster**** the roads were for the 3/4 mile to the store. Then I got there and the milk, bread and toilet paper were all gone. Everyone thought they'd be snowbound for a week with that little dusting.

I had a very similar experience in DC last month. It was highly entertaining.

A drunk post from Ralph might just kill the board!

I love a region crippling snow storm like anything else... but super bowl weekend is the wrong time for it... i won't be able to grab anything ahead of time and I think the chance of any place for pizza or otherwise is going to be a coin flip.

Going to be a fairly boring weekend... except for watching the idiots in their lexus convertibles try to drive... that doesn't get old.

I gotta make sure I grab some beer after work before everything goes crazy.

ASaAG - I thought you were going to say Matt Gilroy...

In my opinion, the U.S. will be hard pressed to find an equivalent replacement for Mike Komisarek. He's big, aggressive, plays the body and does so without taking an egregious number of penalties. This type of defenseman is difficult to find these days.

I think replacing Paul Martin will be a somewhat easier task. If I were asked for an opinion I'd suggest choosing Alex Goligoski as Martin's replacement. AG skates well, handles the puck adeptly and passes it deftly. I know the Pittsburgh Penguins have lots of offensive power, but one reason the Penguins score as often as they do is because AG gets the puck to players so that they have time and space in which to make plays. Good young player I'd enjoy seeing play for the U.S. in Vancouver.

MY wife and I are off to the mountains to spend four days with my brother and his family who are in vail for a skiing vacation. I hope everyone has a good rest of the week and a fun-filled weekend. See you next week.

I am looking forward to doing nothing this weekend.

I might even turn on the 5 hour Ad bowl on Sunday night.

Yeah, this is the first weekend here myself where I don't have anything going on either. Hasnt happened in a while.

Just hope that your dryer doesn't do what mine did. The thermostat went out on mine and wouldn't blow warm air. I'd have clothes in the dryer for over 2 hours and they wouldn't be any drier than when I took them out of the washer.

you could hang em up in the room and they would dry faster than that.

...or maybe the East Coast just sucks.

I would like to join Hammer in this experiment. I think I would have a great time getting paid to do nothing...

Not all its cracked up to be. And once you're there, its a hell of a time getting money around so that you can do something else besides just sit on your bum.
