Afternoon, Lodge. Ensconced in the library to avoid the heat. Well into my 2nd liter of water for the day. Working on a presentation for my bioethics class about whether or not to place a feeding tube in an ALS patient who is paralyzed except for her eyelids. Mentally there 100%. Hope this goes better than my last paper did ... apparently my views do not align with those of the Catholic Church and the priest who is teaching this class. :(

Now I get it. Euro Trip. I should have known that one too since I just saw that recently. If I am wrong, please enlighten this poultry.

Well, effective this afternoon, I'm on my own watch. Wish the circumstances were different, we had a guy get off because his wife is having an emergency surgery due to a tumor on her spine. Keep him/her in your thoughts if you can, she's been battling cancer off and on for a while. :(

That was the Goodwin file. I was only using generic television boss talk, in use since 1957. Seems like on those old shows it was always "Jenkins." You can imagine Mr. Slate in The Flintstones yelling, "Jen-KINS!!!!!" Or Dr. Bellows in I Dream of Jeannie. Or Mr. Spacely in The Jetsons. Etc.

(And my parents wondered how I got such mediocre grades in college . . . )

Making my first stop in Pepe's (of new haven, but in Manchester, ct). By myself so I passed on a pizza (hangs head on shame). Maybe I'll stop on the way home and pick up one

Say RFalph! Mrs. StPaul and the daughter StPaul are headed to DC tomorrow for a Girl Scout trip. I just checked the weather: the high tomorrow is a balmy ONE OH ONE. Sheesh! They'll get to experience a real DC summer, it appears.

We sent about a half-trailer's worth (52' trailer) of pumps, hoses, and other flood-related stuff on a special delivery today to Duluth. Basically, it had to get there tonight. That bad of need.

Of course, all of that stuff was at the building I work at (as opposed to the main building) so the workload was insane today. Had to call a 3rd guy down to handle the volume.

Well, just successfully and safely did my first venture on the boat while on my own!

Morning y'all. Now I can join these crazies who get up at ungodly hours of the morning.
