Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

Well, just successfully and safely did my first venture on the boat while on my own!

Morning y'all. Now I can join these crazies who get up at ungodly hours of the morning.

Congrats.

Back from bike riding before it got to 80 deg. I road on the C&O canal towpath and turned around at the Berma Road detour at Old Anglers Inn. http://www.canaltrust.org/trust/index.php?page=towpath-repairs-near-angler-s-inn

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! thursday. hot. very hot.

The leading story this morning? Alec Baldwin ran over the producer of one of those gossip TV shows. They show the clip- He is biking with his head ducked down, she stepped right in line of where he was going and then remarked in surprise that her foot got run over. Any sane, normal individual without a lust for publicity, would have gotten out of the way. It is embarrassing how transparent it was. Not really keen on AB but the temptation to drive over the top of all of her, not just her foot, would have been there for me.

Morning.

The bulk of the packing of my apt will be done this weekend. I still have stuff I'd like to get rid of, but can't seem to find anyone to take it.

About 30 DVDs, 10,000 Baseball cards, hockey equipment (skates, gloves, helmet, cage, old stick), video games/systems (wii, 360, ps3, DS, PSP), and various other junk i'd rather not take with me.

Got to the Lulea airport early, so I'm sitting here killing time. I fly from Lulea to Stockholm tonight, then Stockholm-Amsterdam-Detroit-Traverse City tomorrow. Luckily they let me check my luggage from here to Detroit. I have to collect it there to go through customs and re-check it to Traverse City. I have 3 checked bags, with all of my clothes for 2+ weeks, and all of the equipment that I had to bring with. That'll be fun to lug around DTW.

Hi Lodge. Dentist appointment this morning for a cleaning. Hygienist asks me if the canker on my gum line hurts. Um, no, didn't know it was there. She took an xray to make sure that's all it was. All during the appointment I'm thinking "uh oh, now what?" It was nothing. When I went the last time, i told them the tooth they did the root canal on was more sore than it was before I had the root canal. And that the crown they put on wasn't all the on as I felt it when I bit. I go today, new dentist in the practice, checks out the crown, does a little drilling/filing/whatever, and voila! It was so much better!!

Had to drive to the office as I did not have the time to go home and jump on the T. It's Thursday, so I can only have one martini tonight so I can get home in one piece. :)

I will say I am in the midst of another pity party for myself. We had our department celebration for the anniversary and the head of the department thanked two of the departments that had a lot to do with the Fenway event last week and never mentioned me. Now, I'm trying to stay positive to think he included me in one of those departments but he knows I don't work for them. It's a bit annoying when I've been working my *** off for the last seven months to not even get a little recognition for it. And I am really annoyed at co-workers who ***** back about schedules and doing things in a rush. I don't want to have to do things in a rush but if some of you got it right the first time and paid attention and didn't wait a full day to review something then I wouldn't be on your case to get something done. I feel like I am always the one accommodating my schedule to fit theirs.

OK. End rant. I have a job that I like a lot. That let's me do lots of very cool things. And pays me pretty well. So I will stop complaining.

Could be worse... you could do something successfully that has a national impact and not be recognized whatsoever.

Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

The deed is done and buried out in the flower garden. Lady was 13, blind, and wasn't getting around well at all.

Sorry to hear.

A few years ago I took my dog to the vet to get put down. The below poem was given to me once the deed was done.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
