Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

The bat will be bigger than she is. :D That would be amusing, though, to watch Half-Pint thwop someone upside their greasy head.

Of course it would be! :D I would recommend the smaller tee-ball bat, because she wouldn't want a bigger weapon in a crowd. Its big enough to do some damage to probably even the thickest of knuckledragging shoppers skulls, and she should still have enough room to swing it around to get the maximum skull-splitting effects of the bat. :D

Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

Target's Black Friday sales flier was leaked. Bargains include $3 appliances, gift cards for purchases $100 or more...and 32" HDTVs for $246...

That's almost tempting enough to visit a big box on Black Friday. But not quite. Besides, I have a feeling that Amazon et al will have similar deals.

Morning, Lodge. I'm moving slowly, but pretty soon I'll be heading up to Houghton and Marquette for the weekend.

EDIT: Stupid internet went out, otherwise I would have commented on 'bando and her thwopping bat. ;)

Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

Ouch. ;)

On my way home last night I was stuck in traffic. From about 2 miles before 694/94 merge (heading west) traffic was at a stand still. It took me just over an hour to get from there to the St. Michael area. I was tempted to give you a call and see if you were up for beverage. :)

Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

Thanks for the warning! Oh, and good luck trying to get a sound night's sleep tonight and tomorrow knowing that the Detroit Pylons, er, Lions will be systematically dismantling the Vikings this weekend. Brett Farruhvuh is gonna look like Jay Cutler did last night.

[an entire weekend in the woodshed]

And it doesn't get any easier for the Gopher football team. They have a game against another BCS powerhouse tomorrow.

Regarding the Vikings. I am already trying to book a couple rooms in Arlington, TX to watch the Queens win back to back..............

Good luck to the Golden Golfers' feetsball team tomorrow against South Dakota State. Next spring the two teams meet in baseball when the Jackrabbits--led by their brilliant third baseman, who happens to be one of Mrs. Shot's several godchildren--will lead SDS to a doubleheader sweep as it exacts a measure of competitive revenge. :D

And the whole idea of you and Gonzo consuming adult beverages together is just too unpleasant a concept with which to wrestle. Some things are much better left undone. :p

Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

I have to say, the vicious one-sided beating down of UVM posters in the BC-UVM thread is a beautiful sight to behold. Just impeccable thrashing going on there.

Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

That...is... just not going well for one certain UVM poster, is it?

Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

No, it's not. God help the Eagles if Vermont wins one of those games. That thread will be insufferable. Well, more so than it is now.

That's all fine and good, but which movies will be $4 and which TV seasons can I get for $12-16? I may be a Black Friday morning regular at Target for the reason of expanding my DVD collection.

If I wasn't going home to Maryland, I'd be shopping for a nice new big tv that day. However, since I'm carpooling down to the East Coast, it will limit my shopping.

Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

My wife and her sister head out early every Black Friday, not to shop, no no, just to gauk at all of the idiots running around like Keystone cops trying to grab the next deal. Although I'm really not sure which is worse, being a shopper or a voyeur. Either way, glad I have to work, and though it is for a retailer, it's not in a store.

I don't see how it'll really change though. The BC posters will just jump on them about when UVM will raise a banner for their victory and talk about how UVM still hasn't won anything important.

Frankly, I'm OK with that. :D

I suppose. It's funny going from that thread to the Northeastern-Maine thread where both fan bases are being pleasant an humorous and self deprecating.

Too bad - I would have been. We could have met in Monticello. Next time!

I'm so glad I'm going the opposite direction on my commute. Despite the whole 94/494/694 being six plus lanes, that stretch is always a mess. I get off on 101 at Rogers on the way home. Not only is it the fastest way, but if I decide to swing into Cabela's I'm right there :)

I left the east side of the metro around 5 PM last night. Driving east to west at that time of the day is nasty.

Oh - I usually leave 3:00-3:30. I could have stayed had I known.

And you may want to visit this thread and calm some of your fellow BSU fans down. Happy is staying sharp for the next MN/UND series using the BSU noobs as his whet stone :D

Thats how we roll, unless BC or UNH is involved:D

Re: Rep Lodge Thread 89: As The Holidays Approach

Gonzo,
Good luck to the Trojans against the machine from EP.

Thanks!
Two really good teams - should be quite a battle
I think next year they're going to be in the same division

I don't get involved and I don't post in those threads for a reason. I find it humorous that living in a basement and owning a compter with dial up equates to being a college hockey know it all. ;)

BSU doesn't get much repsect and IMHO that is justified. Taking this series will help in gaining a little more respect to the program.

BSU will never be a top team year in and year out in the WCHA but rest assured they won't be a bottom team either. I predict that over the long term BSU will spend more time in the top half of the WCHA versus the bottom. I am willing to bet a substantial amount of cash on that. Unlike other programs, BSU has a tradition of winning and wanting to win and most importantly actually winning is in our DNA. We have done it at every level and stepping into the WCHA won't change that.

BSU has a good chance to make a statement this weekend. Even though BSU has had a fairly easy schedule to date even a down gopher team should be a good test. Even though mn has yet to find themselves and they have played poorly to date if BSU ends up poking the bear to many times they might regret it.

Even if the gophers sweep I will still be happy with a 7-2-1 record ten games into the season.

*steps off soap box*
