Re: Rensselaer Engineers: Pick to Click: 2012-13 Edition

So as some of you probably know Burgie is incapacitated at the moment, so he asked if I would do the lead in post for him this week. Not sure when he will be getting the results from this weekend up, but given the circumstances I think we can give him a break (pun intended).

RPI is coming off two home victories, that have moved them into second in the ECAC. The two wins also extends their overall winning streak to 6 games and their ECAC winning streak to 8 games. With four games left in the season, and a total of 8 points separating the middle ten teams in the ECAC, its shaping up to be a pretty intense end of the season. The only two things that are certain are that Quinnipiac will finish 1st and Harvard will not be in the top 6.

This weekend RPI will be traveling to face New York foes Cornell and Colgate. Both schools played Harvard and Dartmouth this weekend. Cornell beat Dartmouth on Friday and tied Harvard on Saturday, and Colgate lost both match-ups.

Picks most be in be Friday at 7pm or Burgie will stomp you with his new bionic leg.

Only Laliberte is ineligible. Although him and Neal have the same amount of points, he has more goals, which is the tie breaker.

You may not choose the following players for this game:
Rensselaer: Jacob Laliberte NOR Nick Bailen
Cornell: Greg Miller NOR Joakim Ryan
Colgate: Tylor Spink NOR Jeremy Price

Beware of the Tylor/Tyson Spink confusion for Colgate.

Re: Rensselaer Engineers: Pick to Click: 2012-13 Edition

Congratulations to ehf, RKarger, and TuteScrooge! Each of the three got five points from their picks, good enough to earn the bonus point. This is RKarger's first weekly win of the season while it's the 4th each for ehf and TuteScrooge. RKarger used her six points to move from 9th to 6th while ehf closed the gap that I had opened up behind me and TuteScrooge opened up a much bigger gap in front of me.

Joe Prescott broke Kasdorf's shutout (which is what ehf had been hoping for with his RPI pick) to be crowned "most productive Brown pick." Not only did no one pick Prescott, no one got any points from any of their Bears' picks. With both Bailen and Laliberte ineligible and some very balanced scoring, two PtC points was enough to earn that crown for RPI on Friday, but we have to ignore Matt Neal, since he had a goal and assist against Yale on Saturday. So, let's see who tallied 2 PtC points on Friday. Chris Bradley (primary assist on the 5th goal), Bo Dolan (secondary assist on 3rd goal), Jason Kasdorf (win) (ehf), Guy Leboeuf (primary assist on 1st goal) (myself), CJ Lee (scored 5th goal), Mark Miller (scored 3rd goal), and Mike Zalewski (scored first goal). With three more posters taking Matt Neal, a couple with Bubela, and still four more taking Ryan Haggerty, lugnut was the only poster to not pick up at least a point from Friday's game.

Matt Neal was the hero of the Engineers' PtC Faithful Following against Yale, scoring the game's first goal (good thing it was allowed, right?) and picked up an assist on the empty-netter. Ralph, RKarger, and TuteScrooge all made the correct choice for that night. Andrew Miller scored Yale's 5-on-3 goal, so he was the wisest choice for our opponents. He was chosen by cnor, ehf, and hawthr.

lugnut barely kept his run going and there were a number of small switches in the overall standings which you can check out below if you'd like.

Lugnut was the only poster to not pick up at least a point from Friday's game.

lugnut barely kept his run going.

This is what happens when I try to change it up. I swear Burgdoerfer should have gotten points for effort this weekend.
