Rensselaer Engineers: Pick to Click: 2012-13 Edition

Re: Rensselaer Engineers: Pick to Click: 2012-13 Edition

Just wanted to get this back on the front page. Tired of looking for it back on page 3.
Burgie, I hope you are feeling better now and mending as quickly as possible.
I have to guess that the Engineers are making it a little easier for you. :)

I already know who I'm picking for the other teams, so I might as well do this now:

RPI: Mark Miller
CCT: Greg Lewis

RPI: Mike Zalewski
SLU: Matt Weninger

You just wanted to see the following line: :p

Congratulations to Ralph! He not only won the weekend, but he also moved back into first place and has a four-point lead over hawthr! It was Ralph's third bonus point of the season and his first of 2013.

I still have no idea why the stats say that Iles got an assist on Cornell's shorthanded goal (probably some hometown scorekeeping), but, I have to go with what I'm given. Andy Iles (FlagDUDE) gets the win and the assist, making him worth 6 PtC points. The most valuable position player was either John Esposito (nobody) or Joel Lowry (Ralph, RKarger, and RPIHFH), the two eligible goal-scorers for the Faux Red. Travis Fulton scored the only RPI goal and it was unassisted, so he was the only player worth anything for the Engineers. Unsurprisingly, no one picked him.

On Saturday, Matt Neal (Ralph and TuteScrooge) assisted on the game-tying goal and finished it off with less than ten seconds remaining in overtime, making him the most valuable Engineer. Mike Borkowski also had a goal and assist, meaning that he would have brought 3 PtC points to whomever picked him. Unfortunately, he went unpicked.

lugnut did not tally any points this week, breaking his streak and passing the title to a large group of posters. However, no streak is older than the Times Union Center game against Union, so it's not even worth commenting on. ehf knocked me out of 4th for the first time since the middle of January, FlagDUDE's pick of Iles sent him flying up a couple of spots, and lugnut's failure to pick up any points sent him stumbling a couple.

Re: Rensselaer Engineers: Pick to Click: 2012-13 Edition

Link back to the title post with details on scoring

RPI returns to the friendly confines of the Houston Field House, where they have not lost since December 1st alone in 2nd place in the ECAC, in the tournament if it started today according to PairWise, and ready to take care of business.

Clarkson is 3-0-0 in their last three Friday games and matches between the Knights and Engineers are always intense.

Then, SLU comes into town for Senior Night, likely with 2nd place on the line. The Saints were 4-0-0 after their loss to RPI before they lost to Dartmouth. Still, they're 8-2-2 in their last twelve and have also put themselves in the NCAA Tournament conversation.

Picks must be in by puck drop on Friday at 7pm, otherwise it's tough banana splits for you. My deepest apologies for having the lead-in post up so late.

You may not choose the following players for this game:
Rensselaer: Matt Neal NOR Nick Bailen
Clarkson: Allan McPherson NOR Paul Geiger
St. Lawrence: Greg Carey NOR George

Statistics / Rosters:
Rensselaer: Statistics | Roster
Clarkson: Statistics | Roster (beware of J. / M. Zarbo confusion)
St. Lawrence: Statistics | Roster (beware of George / Gunnar Hughes confusion)

If we lose the CCT game, I'm blaming your pick. After all, you picked our goalie for the Cornell game and we lost.

Re: Rensselaer Engineers: Pick to Click: 2012-13 Edition

BTW, how is the official scorekeeper going to tell the players apart if they are all dressed for Sethcess? ;)
