Re: Rensselaer Engineers: Pick to Click: 2012-13 Edition
And thus endeth the Engineers season. Once again, a big thank you to everyone for keeping me entertained and informed in the world of college hockey. Hopefully, next season I don't break my femur headed into the last few weeks of the season and don't fall off the face of the map with regards to keeping this thread and the ECAC Byes / Home-Ice thread updated.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed playing and will come back next season. It's a lot more fun when there are more players.
Congratulations to hawthr! He exploded for 12 points in this, the final week of the season. He scored with five of his six choices (the only poster to do so) and got at least two points from each of those five. He ends up with a five-point win on the weekend and a seven-point overall victory for the PtC Championship.
On Friday,
Jacob Laliberte (hawthr) scored the Engineers' only goal, making him worth 2 PtC points. For Brown, the scoring was nice and balanced.
Michael Juola (vizoroo) scored the game-winning goal and
Mark Naclerio (hawthr and Ralph) potted the empty netter.
Brandon Pfeil (nobody) assisted on Lorito's goal to open the scoring, while Jake Goldberg assisted on Juola's, but he was worth more on Sunday.
Anthony Borelli (FlagDUDE) got the win. All of the above players were worth 2 PtC points each.
On Saturday,
Mike Zalewski (FlagDUDE, hawthr, and RPIHFH) had two goals to put the nail in the coffin for that game and was worth 4 PtC points.
Brandon Pfeil (nobody) and
Chris Zaires (hawthr) were the only two eligible Bears to earn two PtC points.
On Sunday,
Mark McGowan (hawthr) and Mike Zalewski scored the Engineers' two goals. Zalewski, obviously, was worth more on Saturday.
Chris Bradley (nobody) and
Guy Leboeuf (nobody) assisted on Zalewski's goal, making them also worth two PtC points each.
Jake Goldberg (nobody) opened the scoring and
Nick Lappin (lugnut, RKarger, and vizoroo) scored a goal and an assist.
Once again, I inexplicably failed to pick up at least a point, meaning that I failed in each of the last three weekends. I was the only poster to not gain at least one point on the weekend. lugnut and RKarger each got points from four of their choices. lugnut used that opportunity to climb to the top of the "Rest of Us" heap in fifth place. There ended up being an eight-point gap between RKarger at 4th and lugnut leading the way for everyone else. I ended up falling all the way to 9th while cnor failed to post his picks, so he fell to 11th.
Ralph, RKarger, and RPIHFH will all carry six-week scoring streaks into next season.
