Rensselaer Engineers: Pick to Click: 2012-13 Edition

Re: Rensselaer Engineers: Pick to Click: 2012-13 Edition

I'm pretty positive I can't change my pick now, but I'm posting this for the hell of it anyway. Laliberte was a game time scratch due to illness last night. If I can change him for tonight, I pick Bubela.

With the injury / illness announced so close to game time, yes you can. However, your pick is now a conditional pick. If Laliberte is in the lineup tonight, you get him, if he's not, you get Bubela.

ehf changed his pick before puck drop on Friday, so he is locked in to Higgs.

FlagDUDE still has the opportunity to make a conditional change to his RPI BRF! pick.

MavHockey sent me a text with a timestamp of 19:00, so his picks for the week will count. He chose Zalewski/O'Regan and Bubela/Robinson.

Assuming there are no scoring changes from last night's game, ehf has the early lead having picked Kasdorf. Ralph and TuteScrooge each picked up a point, so hawthr and TuteScrooge are tied for the lead and Ralph is just one point back.

Oh, and PS, FlagDUDE didn't tally a point yesterday while lugnut did, so lugnut may find himself alone with the active point-scoring streak lead.

Thanks for the explanation, I wasn't sure who I was going to get if Laliberte played. Now I know.
It is time for Higgs to score his first goal of the season.

Excellent - thanks for the explanation!

Fair enough, I will switch to Zalewski. When I saw JL at the alumni game, he wasn't looking all that good. Word has it he was puking yesterday.

Re: Rensselaer Engineers: Pick to Click: 2012-13 Edition

Laliberte was in the lineup last night for the BRF!, so hawthr's and FlagDUDE's conditional picks didn't count.

ehf's choice of Kasdorf on Friday was enough for the weekly win by itself, but he added another point with Brock Higgs' assist on Zalewski's second goal of the weekend and so he ended the weekend with 6. This was ehf's third weekly win of the season and sent him rocketing up the standings to T-5th.

There must be some unwritten rule in the ECAC Handbook that says that only one team may score when RPI faces off against either Harvard or Dartmouth. I couldn't find the entry, but it must be there.

Jason Kasdorf could have been selected on either night because he threw a shutout both nights. As has already been mentioned five times, ehf was the only poster to take Kasdorf. He selected him on Friday.

Mark Miller was the high-scoring position player against the Crimson with 2 goals and 4 PtC points and Guy Leboeuf's pair of assists made him the most valuable non-goalie against Dartmouth. Neither was selected.

Five of fourteen posters failed to pick a scoring Engineer, including RPI fan 4 life, who failed to score for the first time since he restarted playing. The only two posters who have scored in each of the past two weeks are REDaero and lugnut. With FlagDUDE failing to tally a point, lugnut takes sole possession of the active point-streak title. However, he will not be able to catch Ralph's record by the end of this season. Even if the Engineers make it to the Frozen Four and play in all three weekends of the ECAC Tournament, he'll still only get to 18 weeks.

hawthr's failure to pick up a point drops him to 3rd, a position he had yet to see this season. This will be the third week in a row where there's a different name at the top of the standings. RKarger also climbed a few spots to 9th from 11th. Otherwise, there was no movement in the standings.

Link back to the title post with details on scoring

RPI takes four points at home and is now on a 4-0-0 ECAC run, but has a 1-4-2 record on the road in the ECAC as they are about to head up to the North Country and take on a pair of medieval mascots for the first time this season. Last season, RPI managed a split against the Saints, winning at home, but were swept by the Knights.

SLU is on a tear recently, having gone 4-0-2 in their past six games, all ECAC matchups, too. Clarkson is 2-1-2 in their past five. Both teams took three points this past weekend, defeating the Faux Red and tying Colgate.

Picks must be in by puck drop on Friday at 7pm, otherwise it's tough scones for you.

You may not choose the following players for this game:
Rensselaer: Ryan Haggerty NOR Nick Bailen
St. Lawrence: Greg Carey NOR George Hughes
Clarkson: Allan McPherson NOR Paul Geiger

Statistics / Rosters:
Rensselaer: Statistics | Roster
St. Lawrence: Statistics | Roster (beware of George / Gunnar Hughes confusion)
Clarkson: Statistics | Roster (beware of J. / M. Zarbo confusion)

A typo burgie. Come on I expect better from you!
