Regional Rankings

Re: Regional Rankings

So all those people (and I was definitely one of them) that screamed holy h*ll when the ECAC NE got an automatic bid were all proven wrong. The AQ did indeed raise those weaker conferences to become more competitive.

I agree with you. They earned them, too.

Re: Regional Rankings

So am I right that no #1 conference seed actually won their tournament this year? I can't think of one that did...

Re: Regional Rankings

So, who has the #2 in the East? It looks like UNE and Hobart both play the closest lower seed. Frankly, I am just happy if Hobart can get by Genny, so don't really want to think ahead, just curious.

Re: Regional Rankings

So, who's #2 in the East? Ergo, who hosts if UNE and Hobart win?

I should actually rephrase my question.

What are the eastern seeds overall? Because it sure seems like they went with geography long before they attempted any bracket integrity.

On the surface, Hobart and Geneseo should be hosting Nichols and Fitchburg in some order. Potentially, they have the #2 and #3 east seeds meeting in a play-in round!

It would appear to be:
1. Salve Regina
2. UNE
3. Hobart
4. Geneseo
5. Colby
6/7. Fitchburg / Nichols

1 v. 6/7
2 v. 5
3 v. 4

That would be my guess. And I see the NCAA stat sheets on NCAA.com are from 3/31/17.

Good point, there are clearly separate New England and New York brackets going on that don't make sense if you consider the rankings.

I forgot about Salve Regina as #1. So, not too crazy. But to have the two lowest seeds playing each other...

(Now that I got no work done this morning...)

Re: Regional Rankings

How many of the distances are more than 500 miles?

You lived in the Northeast. Nothing is more than 500 miles... :)

The real question is, how many of these matchups don't require overnight stays with hotel rooms? Geneseo at Hobart certainly doesn't.
