Not really, especially considering for the second year in a row, the Big Green are one of college hockey's least penalized. But I can see why you'd say that watching last night, as frustration certainly got the better of some of the Big Green's players late in the game.

Good point, I agree with your comment. Tonight, against Harvard, a very good hockey game, Bobcats with a loss and Lackey had a great game...

Didn’t look like a lot of Grade A chances against Lackey. I think they pounded the logo on his chest more than a few times.

On a positive note, I think we have found a goalie. Another super solid performance for Shorty. Also, watching that Harvard power play, WOW....they are scary good. Puck movement was incredible.

"Hitting a goalie in the logo" is a sign of great positioning by the goalie. Lackey was incredible. Sucks we lost, but that's hockey.

Thought the team played well tonight, just one of those days.

He had great rebound control, took away the lower part of the net, and had great positioning all night, though he did seem to get vulnerable in the last 5 minutes or so. If we could have elevated a few of those 2nd/3rd attempts...

Shorty was phenomenal this weekend. That glove save he made in the 1st was one of the best I've seen (and then Lackey went and made a similar one himself). He definitely kept us in tonight's game. He certainly has earned and deserves to be the #1 going down the stretch.

Also, watching that Harvard power play, WOW....they are scary good. Puck movement was incredible.

Yeah, I saw that yesterday. When I was a student there I was surprised at how QUN seemed so off-limits to students. It didn't really make sense for such a good journalism school to have a professional radio station where it was so hard for students to get real-world experience. Hopefully they put some of those resources into helping student media, which has a ton of kids looking for that experience.

Their reasoning is that over the air radio is dying, especially AM, and not many students want to enter the radio field anymore. Another internet casualty.

As to that last part -- I graduated in 2008, and I was very heavily involved in student media, including the student radio station. I was asked once to help with something on WQUN, and no students in my four years ever got any meaningful experience at WQUN. It was never used for students, so I just think this is them allocating resources elsewhere. I was always surprised at how students never got opportunities there. Seemed like a giant missed opportunity.

That definitely changed then because I went from 2000-2004 and worked there all four years and produced tons of men's hockey, men's basketball and woman's basketball games from the studio. Hell even a guy I know in my graduating class was the hockey analyst on the radio for 4 years as a student at WQUN.

For anyone still living under a rock, tomorrow's game at BU has been moved up to a 5pm start due to the weather.

When was last time WQAQ broadcast games? When i was there back in the 1870s, they did D3 basketball home & away, with booth and court-side reporting (during timeouts). now, with streaming, they could monetize that with ads easily enough to build a P&L to support the hockey team.....which as a nationally ranked D1 brand, increases recognition and value of a Quinnipiac degree.
