Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

We BEAT YALE!

Awesome game! Awesome atmosphere! Awesome outcome! The energy in the building was as good as I've ever experienced. Most of the students (and I mean most) stayed until the end. Just an incredible evening of hockey at the Bank.

The tough game is tomorrow. Brown will be looking for a chance to take down numero uno. Our seniors will be taking the ice for the final regular season home game of their collegiate careers. It'll be an emotional night for sure.

Looking more and more like I potentially will have to eat my tickets for senior night tomorrow.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

YALE BEATEN!

Watching the game on my DVR now. Getting a headache from that crowd.

Bravo, QU students. Bravo. The NBC Sports announcer was screaming the entire game because he couldn't hear himself think.

Bravo, QU students. Bravo.
Z, it was the best student section I've witnessed at the Bank! They were lined up outside at 4:00. When the doors opened at 5:30, they were running to their seats. And they STAYED! The chants were good, the crowd responded... just incredible!

Rumor has it that Reid Cashman bought pizzas and had them delivered at 5:00 to be served to the kids waiting in line! Nice gesture if true.

Tonight is what college hockey is all about.

I saw the Twitter pictures of the crowd at 4:30. Insanity. Good for the students. Hopefully the crowd tomorrow night is good, too. I've heard of the running-to-seats thing before, but the amount of fans there at 5:30 is ridiculous. The entire student section was full already. That's never happened before.

How did the new uni's look on TV? They were awesome in person. I hope they become the new home's and go on sale soon!

Everything looked great on NBC Sports. The crowd looked ridiculous. QU totally put its best foot forward tonight, which was awesome to see.

This is very interesting.

I was concerned that when Quinnipiac leaves the NEC, the free broadcasts would end, but perhaps Quinnipiac is going to keep them free and use YouTube?

Could this broadcast be a test for what will happen next year? Good idea to test it out this season before having to go through with it next year.

When it's all said and done this year, does hartzell emerge as the "greatest" Bobcat in program history? A title that few can argue is currently held by Reid Cashman.

If he were ever to lead this team to the national championship there is no doubt he deserves to be the first bobcat player to have his number retired.

Congratulations on the win; got the chance to watch the game last night.

The good:

Student section/crowd. Very impressive.
Quick scoring chances, looked very good.

The bad:
That first Q goal....bad non-call. That's called "running the goalie."
THUNDERSTICKS? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? No. No. No.

Agreed wholeheartedly on the thundersticks.

As for the first goal, that was my first thought as well, but take a closer look: the Yale defender rides our guy into the goaltender just a bit. He lets up as they get close, but it's too late to avoid the contact.

Also, the contact probably happens after the puck is already past the goaltender. It's close... very close, but I think the contact is after the puck goes through, and I think the Yale player rides our guy into the goal.

That said, I agreed with Ken Hodge -- it should have been reviewed. It was very, very close.

Well last night was fun! :D

For all of the flack that I gave the student section last week, I was **** proud to be a part of it last night. The chants were solid, not too immature, and constant. My friends and I were lucky enough to beat the rush of the students and secure our seats in the front row of 108. To experience those three goals (especially the second and third in a 47 second span) in the first period was something that I will never forget for the rest of my life.

After that third goal, I was out of breath and exhausted with a major headache. All of the energy in that student section was pretty overwhelming, especially compared to what we have had in the past.

Great to beat Yale, now lets finish off the weekend against a dangerous Bruno squad that I certainly want to avoid come tournament time.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

Watched the game last night and was impressed by everything going on down at the Q. Student section was impressive and so were the students on the ice. Impressed how the energy was there for all 60 minutes.

High praise from a Gopher fan... thanks! ;)

As for the thundersticks I'm not a fan but it keeps the kids occupied.

And it's worth repeating: Best student showing ever at the Bank!

What a game! Will be interesting to see what kind of crowd QU can bring to the post season games after the second round series in the ECAC tournament. AC could be tough. Providence in the ECAC tournament would be the best case scenario.

First two rounds of the playoffs are always rough, crowd-wise. Spring break for the students, and with so little time to sell tickets, every team in the league not named Cornell always seems to have trouble filling the rink.

Getting to Providence would be tremendous -- I definitely think you'd see a very large QU contingent there.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

The guys around here that crunch all the PWR numbers think we have a #1 seed wrapped up. As long as BC doesn't move ahead of us we'll be in Providence.

Of course a lot to do between now and then.
