Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!
So regarding your rep, Mr. T-Shirt, allow me to say the following. The combination of Denver having been out of town and/or playing University of Bye in recent weeks has affored Mrs. Shot and yours truly ample time to hit the slopes, and I'm happy to say we have done just that. But since you asked nicely for my always spot on analysis of your QU team here goes. Bob and the Katzes are nothing more than a lucky bunch of stiffs. These guys will choke on their own vomit in the playoffs. Just wait til they hafta face AIC again. What's that? AIC is in a different conference? Just like I said, the Katzes are a bunch o'lucky stiffs.
In all seriousness the loss last weekend may have been just what the doctor ordered for your boys. Now QU doesn't have to worry about carrying a long unbeaten streak as the playoffs approach. It seems your lads are this year's pre-season-darkhorse-come-to-honest-to-goodness prominence. Nice to see some fresh blood making noise in the regular season. I hope your squad can overcome some of the poor performances the ECAC has authored over the years in the NCAA tourney.
As for my Denvers...a greatly over-rated squad this year. The strong defense and solid goaltending of which many spoke in the pre-season have shown themselves only sporadically during the season and rarely in tandem on the same night. This weekend's home series against NoDak and next weekend's road series against Minnesota will give the Pioneers a chance to show if they have the stuff to beat legitimately strong teams. My opinion is that Denver will be fortunate to emerge from those four games with a total of two points......anything more than that will be an unexpected dividend. Frankly, for the first time in many years Denver is in real danger of not hosting a first round WCHA playoff series. With the schedule having Denver play the Fighting Sioux and the Golden Gophers next week I think anything short of an unexpected run in the WCHA tourney will see Denver failing to get an NCAA tourney bid.
And I don't care what you say. It's still Ylae. Good luck against the Bulldogs and Bruno this weekend. Hope you and the rest of the MEUSAS are well.
Hey... I'm just copying what's on my t-shirt!
BEAT YALE!
