I was there too, and it was actually Vic who inadvertently started it! He typed "Ylae" in a sentence in the chatroom and tried to correct it with a one-word entry of "Yale." But it came out "Ylae" again. Twice. After that everybody just started doing it. It got to the point where whenever anyone misspelled anything, several people would type "Ylae." I never use the correct spelling anymore, but it's in no way a shot at the prestigious university in New Haven.

Hey Q fans, you guys need to lose a game!!! The longer the goes, the more nervous I would be if I were you.

The board is pretty quiet all things considered. I guess we have nothing to complain about anymore ;)

Going to the game on Friday at Brown. I apologize in advance for any negative results. Hopefully no one on the team is looking past Brown with the big Yale game Saturday.

I think they learned that lesson after looking past the last place team towards Saturday's Union game. ;)

Not to be that guy, because I really do not want to be, but I would be surprised if the loss to break the streak did not come on this four game road trip. There are just too many opportunities that could result in losses. Brown normally plays us tough, at Yale will undoubtedly be a spirited, difficult game, Colgate has already beaten us (and took us to OT at home), and at Cornell is always a difficult game. This is not to say that I don't think we can continue the streak through this road trip, because I think that we can, it will just be difficult.

Side note, anyone going to the Yale game this weekend? I know that the game is completely sold out, but I am trying to pull a couple of strings (wink wink) to get into the game. I have gone the past couple of years and it is always nice to have a strong Blue and Gold contingent at the Whale.

Honestly, I kind of hope the streak ends at some point. I don't want them going into the postseason without a loss since November. That's one of those things where, as Tim said, weird things can happen the longer you go on a streak like this. I'd rather the weirdness happens in February than it happens in March.

Did you possibly think that gloating wasn't the point of that? You might be able to say the same thing about your Colgate/Cornell weekend, looking forward to the big bear of Cornell, but whoops, needed overtime to beat Colgate.

Nah... they were still reeling from the AIC debacle. At some point during the 'Gate game they realized what they needed to do. As for Cornell, I'm not sure they showed up that weekend because they certainly didn't look like a #4 team that night.

I seriously don't know what the heck is going on with Cornell lately. As much as I'm sure both of us don't mind beating them, seeing them this low in the standings just boggles my mind.

I guess the moral of the story is, "one game at a time".

That's a great story. I sure didn't think we'd be talking about this now, but I think we all had hope the program would get there at some point. Now, the trick is to keep ourselves at this level for the rest of the season, and really make this a special winter in Hamden.

I wouldn't be surprised if scalpers look to sell the game for at least 30 bucks (depending on how much a ticket is normally).

Thx Much to Yale and CPTV for broadcasting Saturday's game. Here is the channel line-up.

CPTV Sports is available on Comcast (966), Cox (805), Cablevision (139), Charter (223), Thames Valley (87) and MetroCast (418). The channel is also available digitally over the air at channels 24.3 (Hartford), 49.3 (Bridgeport), 53.3 (Norwich) and 65.3 (New Haven).

Does not look like those outside CT will get to watch on CPTV.

In September of '01 my wife and I were traveling back to NH from a fishing trip in Montana. At a connecting airport we met a gentleman with a Quinnipiac hat on and started talking hockey. His son skated for the Bobcats, and this gentleman stated the program was growing and in a few years would make an impact in college hockey. I do not recall his name, wish I did. Just an open note....."You Sir were correct! Congratulations to the program".
