You gotta come back more often! It was great seeing you and hopefully you left with a smile on your face the way we did.

Yes, this team IS the for real. They certainly proved that tonight. As much as I hate to admit this, I gave them up for dead at the end of 2. I was, um... mildy surprised at the outcome! They've come a long way since that Harvard weekend when I met both you and Luke. ;)

It's cool. The building/program needs stuff like that to build atmosphere. Gives a cool atmosphere to the building when they score.

Hi fellow Bobcat fans! The ECAC Hockey website has not updated the league points in the standings for QU yet. After tonight's league win against Union, QU is 11-0-1 in league play with 23 points and 17-3-3 overall. However, the standings show QU at 10-0-1 in league play with 21 points and 17-3-3 overall. The schedule on the ECAC site lists tonight's Union game as a non-conference game which is a mistake since tonight was the second and final QU-Union game of the regular season. Ultimately, I think the ECAC has mistakingly not updated the league record to its correct 11-0-1. Any thoughts?

A great time tonight for sure, but the crowd noise was mediocre in my opinion but you can only expect so much from a "full house" of locals. A great win and a great third period, but this team is still a far cry from the Bjugstad-Rau-Haula lines from Minnesota.

Great to see another Bobcat win, though! As long as JST keeps scoring big goals this team has a chance ... it wouldn't hurt if Langlois finally capitalized on a chance. Hartzy was great again.

Go Bobcats!

UNH is still overrated ... University of NO Hardware. Didn't think I'd ever post that in a QU forum in Jan.

Sure. But for a crowd with only locals, it was awfully impressive. As I said, I've been going to Quinnipiac games since 2004, I've never heard a QU crowd booing like that, I've never heard a QU crowd (at least until recently), cheering clears on a PK. It's awfully impressive how hockey-savvy the crowd has become at Quinnipiac.

I can definitely agree about the boos! When the students get back there should be a great atmosphere.

???? UNH is "overrated" because of their #3 SOS ranking as compared to the Quinnipiac SOS ranking of 33 ????

I think Larson210 is just a little excited about the Quinnipiac streak…UNH is a very good team, with great fans. I wish we could get them on our schedule.

When Hockey East expands to 12 teams they're all going to have some non-conference openings in their schedules. I've heard that BC is going to be playing Brown at Meehan... don't be surprised if a few of the top-tier HE teams end up at the Bank in the next couple of years.

I'm a life long Maine fan that now goes to QU, it was more of a joke for MarkEagle and Allnightwong who know me for that. I haven't seen them play yet this year, but I am sure of one thing ... UNH is far better than Maine.:)

Am I getting too excited? No, I just stated that this team is a far cry from some of the nation's best, but last night was one hell of a third period performance. Hartzell is one of the best in the country right now and that is tough to argue.

It will be interesting to see if UNH can finally make it out of Manchester, or if they'll continue to choke in the playoffs. They do have a storied history and that is why they had to make room for new banners that list how many times they've come up short in the NCAAs.:D Although, I haven't been there in awhile, did they take down the banners with NCAA appearances on it? There are plenty of banners at QU that need to be taken down as well though.

I'm sure there are plenty of folks in this forum that never thought they'd look at the QU posts! Hell, I haven't been on here in months to post.

I don't know Larson, I thought the crowd last night, for what it was, was very good. As ZYanks said, it was actually nice to hear some boos from the locals last night. Even before the majors were handed out, there were some light flurries of boos on the failed power plays earlier in the game. Its refreshing to hear the crowd boo, as it shows that some of the locals are starting to really care about this team.

As for the game; boy was that some quality entertainment in the third period. As has been mentioned in this thread already, it was clear in the with the first clearance on the penalty kill in the third that if the killed the majors off successfully, this team was going to do something special. Once they got the first goal from Dalhuisen after the kill, there was no doubt in my mind they were going to come back and win.

What is promising about this team is that I still do not think we have seen the best that they have to offer. Granted they were flying around the ice in that third period, I still do not think that we have seen a complete, 60 minute dominant effort from this team during this streak. The north country trip and the Harvard win last week are the closest games that comes to mind.

Overall, it is just fun to be Bobcat right now. I'm not the most hockey savvy guy, and I have no idea how long this streak can last, but with Hartzy in net, a solid group of defensemen, and balanced scoring across the board, it will sure be fun to watch this team for the rest of the year. However, I would like to see some of the top forwards (i.e. Langer, Peca, Jones twins) pick up the scoring production a bit. When we get to tournament time, this team will need its top goal scorers to step up when they need a goal.

They sure are terrible, but I'm sure once Diamond leaves and they can get a new coach they can sort of start over. When we went up for QU Maine game earlier this year I thought for sure that would remain a good win over the year, maybe not a great win, but certainly not what it turned into.

A hearty congrats to all at Quinnipiac for what the administrators there are building. This has been the goal, especially since moving to the ECAC. I've said it before, the growth of this program in the last 10 years is nothing short of remarkable.
