I think tonight is a big of a game as I can remember at the Bank. Two top-10 opponents ready to battle it out with a lot riding on the outcome. Dartmouth appears to be the real deal so we'd better be ready. Solid D and goaltending as usual will be needed for this one.

But I'm thinking this is bigger than just 2 top-10's going head-to-head: major pairwise and league implications, the top 2 dogs in the ECAC. Huge on many different levels.
Not sure if the 09 UMass game was. I think that's the only likely candidate. Where's allnightstatguy when you need him?

Wow... awesome game tonight although it probably should have never gone to OT. Wonger and I had JST in the doghouse for most of the game and he redeemed himself by netting the game winner! Hartzell was stellar even in giving up 2, making big saves when he needed to. I'm pretty sure Dartmouth's first goal went in off of Federico who ended up in the net with the puck. It seemed like Dartmouth was content to play for the tie in OT while we came out hungry and aggressive. At the final buzzer it was a W for the Bobcats and that's all that matter.
Back at it tomorrow against the Crimson.

Yeah, that's a hell of a win. Great work by the Bobcats tonight.
Got to say, though, they have to play better if they want to keep this streak alive. Awful D by Dartmouth on that final goal. High-end skill kid, you can't just back up on JST like that. Gotta attack the puckcarrier. That being said, QU's defense was a bit slow as well. Would have liked to see them play a little more physical, and thought they were slow to the puck at times (especially in the third), and didn't win nearly enough D-zone battles. That's why Dartmouth was able to climb back into things. But, heck of a job by the Bobcats to fight through after the tie and get that win. Huge implications in the Pairwise for us, at this point.
It looks like I'm going to come up to Hamden next Saturday for the hoops/hockey doubleheader. Can't wait to see these guys live.

A struggling Harvard visits the Bank tonight. What should have been another tough ECAC contender has been decimated by the loss of a few key players to the so-called cheating scandal. They still have some high-end players but are lacking in depth. If this were a Friday game I'd be very nervous about the Crimson. What's this mean for Quinnipiac? Don't look past them! Put in another solid effort and don't let off the throttle. Another 4 point weekend would be huge.

The pass on that fourth goal just had me giggling. That was absolutely nuts.
This team already has 20 points. May I just point out that 3-7 more points most likely gets Quinnipiac a first-round bye? Last year, we had 23 and tied for 4th but lost the tiebreaker with Colgate. Amazing that we're nine points clear of the next-best team (Princeton beat Dartmouth tonight, they have 11). Crazy.
Can't wait to head up the hill for the Union game next weekend. I gotta see these guys live. This is starting to get real.

What amazes me thus far is that there isn't just a couple of guys leading the team. In other words, no superstars. Just a solid line-up that doesn't really have any glaring weaknesses (ok, there's still an issue with the PP but...). We're getting contributions from top to bottom.

The first 35 minutes was tremendous hockey. After that, they had a 5-1 lead, and they coasted the rest of the way. But, you know what? You're allowed to coast when you dominate the way the Bobcats did tonight. RPI, which has been struggling, up next before a really good matchup Saturday against Union.
What amazes me thus far is that there isn't just a couple of guys leading the team. In other words, no superstars. Just a solid line-up that doesn't really have any glaring weaknesses (ok, there's still an issue with the PP but...). We're getting contributions from top to bottom.

BC was the only other Top 5 team to play this weekend, and they tied Yale. So, I'm not sure. When you get to the top 5, it typically takes a higher-ranked team losing for the lower-ranked teams to move up. There's just not much more to go. Maybe they can sneak into fourth by virtue of their sweep, but I'm not sure.
