Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

Jeremy Langlois selected ECAC Player of the Week by the league's coaches. Langlois recorded the Bobcats' first natural hat trick since Mike Atkinson did it back in 2009. Langer also leads the nation in points, goals and power play goals. It'd be incredible if he can keep this up, but even with half of this production, on this team, he should still be in for a heck of a year. Congrats Jeremy!

Bobcats eat Falcons for dinner... tastes just like chicken!

Another fabulous performance from the boys. About as close to total domination as I've seen as a Bobcat fan. They never let off the throttle and just kept coming at the Falcons from the opening faceoff until the final buzzer. Not even late in the third with the game well in hand; they just kept pressuring.

It was really fun to watch and hopefully was a good tune-up for the road trip to Bobby Mo this coming weekend.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

Missed the game tonight, heard it was a real good one. Somebody catch me up on the fight in the third, not really sure what happened there.

Also nice to see Langlois continue his strong play with a goal and an assist tonight. Hopefully they can carry the momentum from this home-stand and go into Robert Morris guns-a-blazing

Wasn't really a fight. Dahlhueisen leveled a guy at mid ice and he took exception. Lots of pushing and shoving with a few face washes, but no fight. Dahlsy and Glaicar got majors along with 2 Falcons. Bentley was grasping (or was it gasping?) at that point...

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

Haven't been able to see any of the games (kind of hard to see games when it's $10 per game for each game), but when was the last time Quinnipiac didn't play down to its opposition? Good stuff from the 'Cats these last few games!

We haven't seen it often, that's for sure. The change thus far this year is obvious, and it's made the games really fun to watch. Of course, the $64,000 question is: can they keep it going? From what I've seen, yes they can. There's more depth on this team than I think I've seen on a Bobcat squad since I've been following them.

Good stuff. I can't wait to get up there to see them...

I have ranked the Q 2nd in my non-Ivy power rankings based on the first two weeks of action. Read about it here:

Sorry for the interruption. Just trying to build up the following.

Not a problem, Jay. Excellent two week roundup. I'd love to be able to travel around the way you do and sample all kinds of barns! Keep up the good work and thanks for the shoutout!

Great write-up, I really enjoyed reading that. Fair points all the way around, and a more than fair rank among the non-Ivys.

We (QBSN) have just posted our weekend preview article for the Robert Morris series, written by Brian Farrell. Check it out here http://www.theqbsn.com/2011/10/weekend-preview-mens-hockey.html

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

Nice articles all. Great to see a lot of different perspectives on QU Hockey. Underserved market until now.

Prediction: Sweep this weekend. QU Hype Machine goes into overdrive just in time for a really tough Princeton/Harvard/Dartmouth away stretch.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

Sweep this weekend.
Certainly doable. If they continue their current style of play there's no reason not to expect a sweep.

Go Q!

On a side note, congratulations and best of luck to our very own wonger who says "I do" tomorrow. May he and Mrs. allnightwong enjoy the very best that married life has to offer!

Thanks Buddy glad you'll be there to celebrate! Thanks to the athletic department for scheduling a road trip for this weekend ;).

As for the Q, my weekend predictions are on the blog as well as a pair of articles that feature the Q and maybe yours truly. Check it out.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

Hopefully the boys learned something last night. It sounded like RMU came out swinging and caught us off guard. Bobby Mo carried play most of the night and I don't think the game was as close as the score, though it was nice to hear the Bobcats claw their way back in the 3rd.

Yeah I listened to most of it, seemed like RMU was dictating play. Peca is the real deal, could be our best player already. Agreed that it is a welcome sign that they made it a game down 4-1, teams in the past would've laid over and died. Kellen made it interesting at the end as well but RMU was too much. Now, the interesting question is in net. Did Rand sit Hartzy too long by letting Clarke play the last two before last night? Is Hartzell feeling the pressure? Who starts tonight? Do I look like an *** for campaigning for Hartz over Clarke? or more likely, Was it a one game slipup and he'll be solid here on out? Hopefully the last one.

Oh well, going to get married. See ya over there Eagle. GoQ!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

Luke did it! His bride was gorgeous and he looked dapper as well. It was one of the nicest weddings I've been to and a great time was had by all. I wish them both only the best for a long, happy life together.

Now, about tonight. I think the Bobcats come out fired up and take it to RMU. I don't see them allowing back to back stinkers and will be trying to repair their wounded pride. A better defensive game and less time in the box are keys to getting it done.

Go Q!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

They did come out and skated hard all game but didn't really dominate. Their PP needs works and RMU's PK is stellar. RMU went to the box 5 times in the 2nd and another 3 in the 3rd but we couldn't find the twine. Two empty netters in the last minute sealed it. The game was closer than the 4-1 score would indicate but I'll take the win. Now they have a week and a half off before ECAC play starts with 3 road games against Princeton, Dartmouth and Harvard.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

Luke, congratulations on you marrage. Dorice and I wish you the best. Perhaps we can set up for a tailgate with our group from #113. Jim
