Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

New bracketology article out: http://www.ncaa.com/news/icehockey-men/article/2018-01-10/mens-hockey-bracketology-sizing-field-second-half-gets

East – Bridgeport, Conn.

3. Clarkson vs. 13. Northeastern
5. Ohio State vs. 11. Providence

Rationale: Clarkson can kind of go to any of the three regionals not in Sioux Falls and have a similar driving distance. Meanwhile, we get the two remaining New England teams within a manageable distance and hope that you hope for traveling fans from two schools as opposed to sending BC here by itself. Again, that’s a change in rationale from my last bracketology, but I think it could go either way. To get this done, we flip Northeastern and Nebraska Omaha, who are tied in the Pairwise anyway, for attendance considerations in the East. Ohio State had to be moved from Allentown, so they end up in a 5-11 matchup instead of a natural 5-12

What's the view from others on Friar chances in Boston this weekend (sans our local negative nancy, we can easily predict his comments).

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

I'd say most likely they split. BU has not been what they should be, and early-season BC is not the same team they are now. A loss and a tie playing Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan, both without Woll I believe, but playing those teams the offense should be a little more productive. Must have missed this one, PC ranks 4th in the nation on the PK? Not too bad.

The USCHO HE Blog guys are giving the Friars high marks with a road sweep...that would be amazing if it happens...

That's great news for BU and BC fans.

I'm half kidding, but those predictions are rough.

Hilarious...everyone is picking PC to sweep BC and BU this weekend. PC has been so up and down this year from losing to RIT to winning four straight games coming into tonight with the best win over Robert Morris or Merrimack. Real world beaters there!

How do you like voice command typing?

PC took an unforced too many men on the ice and BC’s power play (ranked second to last in hockey east) dominates and puts one by Hawkey. Like usual, PC doesn’t show up against these Boston schools under Nate. As I type this, they are being outshot 8-2.

BC outshot PC 10-5 in the period and Providence gave up multiple odd man rushes including one while being short handed. Interesting on the PC PP that Duhaime was playing the point when they up an odd man rush.

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

PC was much better in the second period creating chances and it showed on a PP scramble in front and an atrocious open net goal that Tait caused by pressuring Woll.

PP opportunities are way in favor of Providence right now and I would expect old man York to give the refs the old wink and PC will be called for multiple penalties.

Can we pin this post?

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

Even though PC outshot BC in the third, I thought BC dominated possession in the third with PC sitting on their heels.

Hawkey continues winning games with little fanfare.

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

I see he weighs in but I have him ignored so thankfully don't see what I suspect is another stupid remark

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

Not a very inspiring show for the home team. Lots of empty seats. York should retire and the hockey program should be shut down.

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

On to BU. Tough test tonight. Nice win last night and hopefully they can keep the pressure on BU. This is usually the time of year that BC and BU start to pick it up especially if they've had struggles (by their standards) earlier in the season.
