Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

Friars could use a road W tonite,
Will happen if Hawkeyes keeps it going( 6 goals last 6 games ) and if Desharnais continues to play well ( plus 6 for last 6 games ) and if Conway and Vimal learn to stay out of the box.

No excuse tonight for anything less than two points. This is a team that has struggled to score since the break with only two goals scored in four games against BC, Quinnipiac, and Merrimack x 2

I haven't been paying a lot of attention to UCONN these days, but they seem to be scuffling. There are some good players there, but I don't get the sense that they're the world beaters they have been in previous years.

Still annoyed at that 5 minute major at the end of the BU game that almost cost them the game. Bad bad penalty.

Another strong game by Hawkeyes and the PK!
My impression is that they didn't set the world of fire, but they did enough to win. That's the Hawkey we know and love.
It's good to see Vimal redeem himself after the late penalty in the BU game.

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

And not surprisingly, down 2-0 in the second. Saturday night.

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

Team played like they just met before the game.....penalty at end was horrid, they deserved to lose

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

UCONN played great, really stifled the friars who could not generate much offensive pressure at all, friar special teams awol, PP not sharp. wasted another strong game by Hawkeyes.

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

Great leadership by Pinho and Conway!

Leaman ran off another defenseman this week and now his only backup defenseman is Truman Reed. He is playing with Fire now as Bunz was directly responsible for the first UConn goal.

Who was run off? Pinho's penalty was brutal. They had the momentum and the penalty effectively ended the game.

Zlax must think PC is a blue blood program or something and doesn't understand what PC was for so long before Leaman or what it would probably be like after him.

9th in pwr, always in tourney, last HE team to win national title. Yes, Leaman won a national title at Providence College. Yet his concern is that a reserve dman is no longer in the picture. What a moron.

Reserve d-man? The kid started the first 15 games of the year then Leaman pulled him from the lineup. If someone goes down with an injury, we will have to see Truman Reed out there or play with five D. This is now the third player he ran off this year. Trend isn’t good with the recruits quitting the program. Eventually it will catch up to him.

PK was out of town, missed the game but going to have to go back to watch it for all the disappointing assessments here.

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

Northeastern is coming. I'd assume a split at this point, with offense probably getting blanked on Saturday because it's Saturday.
We split with Northeastern every year, it seems.

Re: Providence College regrouping and on to St. Paul

Consistency has hardly been on their side this year, don't seem to string the same effort together playing the same team twice. Can't be lazy playing Northeastern who I would consider equal to or better than PC this year. A sweep would be a nice surprise, a split more realistic. Had some thoughts on the Saturday loss, but that's behind.
