Wasn't Iraq funded to power during the 80's in order to fight the Ayatollah? More than one person to blame than Dubya.

Because idiotic and lazy voters have a pattern of voting against the very thing they voted for the next chance they get. Recall the "Contract on America' where Gingrich and crew tried to enact the exact agenda they ran on and the public revolted. If I was him I'd be like W T F?

Sorry but I disagree. He didnt have to lie to Congress about WMD he chose to. He is as responsible as anyone for that disastrous war and the lives it cost. Good men do bad things and he did a bad bad thing.

He isnt a traitor per se...but he deserves as much scorn as anyone for the Iraq debacle.

Newt Gingrich said Wednesday that Donald Trump’s “drain the swamp” catch phrase was “cute” but that the President-elect now disclaims it.

During an interview with NPR’s “Morning Edition” Wednesday, host Rachel Martin asked if the former House speaker had been “working in the swamp, to use Donald Trump’s language.”

“I’m told he now just disclaims that. He now says it was cute, but he doesn't want to use it anymore,” Gingrich said, referring to the phrase. “I'd written what I thought was a very cute tweet about ‘the alligators are complaining,’ and somebody wrote back and said they were tired of hearing this stuff.”

We can disagree. I do not think Powell lied knowingly. If you can show me he did my opinion would change.

I think Powell joined the administration because he knew they were vicious jackwagon ideologues and he didn't want American soldiers dying and American principles devalued because of them. He decided to be the insider mole who would thwart their worst intentions. In the event, he was caught in their undertow and dragged out to sea to drown.

This is of great current interest because we are about the see the entire federal bureaucracy try to slow walk / sabotage Trump et al's rush towards fascism. Red tape is about to become the greatest friend of democracy and morality in history. Powell is a warning of what can happen to that intention. But we still have to try.

And we see, still no comments from the Trump partisans here(Oh, I'm sorry, they don't really support the man, despite making any and every excuse and apology for him) about his company pressuring foreign states and agencies to stay in his hotels. How blatant does Pay for Play need to be for you suckers?

Nope, nothing to see here, but you just know that Hillary used her position as Sec State to do favors for the people and states that donated to the Clinton Foundation, and then siphoned that cash off into her personal accounts.

You just know it, because Hillary.

Call it what it is. Trump took advantage of losers like you that were unhappy with their own lives and wanted to blame all their problems on somebody else. Once he got what we wanted, they couldn't even pretend to care about that pile of nothing for more than a month after the election so that you didn't look like you got completely used.

He had all the intelligence and he was about as learned an individual about what the Mid East was like as anyone. If he was anyone else in the administration you would assume he knew and he lied. i am not going to cut him slack because he MIGHT have been the most honest. He is too smart to not have known...and honestly if he didnt that is ****ing in and of itself. (obviously IMHO...none of us truly know)

Newt being Trump's spokesperson is awesome. First he said the ethics rules should be changed for Donald, now he is saying Donald never meant to drain the swamp. Those poor White Working Class voters sure do know how to pick em!
