He'll also seek and possibly get a reduction in the puni award, which is the biggest share of it. His defiance has and will continue to really f ck him on that issue, though.

Since his financial condition is relevant to the issue of punitive damages, they may have spent some trial time on that. I don't recall hearing anything on his financials, but I really didn't follow the trial.

All I know is her lawyer was pressing the jury for a very high number, telling them that since he's a 'billionaire', a large financial hit would be the only thing that would make him stop defaming her.

Hi testified under oath that he had around 400mil cash on hand. So, while this is a big hit, it's not outrageous. If he files for bankruptcy or claims he can't pay this, then let's see the perjury charges coming up next.

Wonderful. He has to answer that question since punies are alleged, and you know he can't resist the temptation to puff himself up and fu k himself in the process. There may be multiple levels of appeal available to him, but this outcome is no small matter.

If I saw the multiple legal people on Threads correctly, if he does appeal, he needs to place the full amount into escrow plus a 10% bond.

They also said last time he pulled this stunt, it was for a like $100,000, and he paid cash.

Cash.

I dont see him having the ability to rent a Brinks truck to pay the $90m in cash.

Not unless he thinks these are legal tender:

At 1g per $100 bill, $83M would weigh just under 2,000 lbs, so any old full sized pickup not made by Elmo would do.

edit: and because I couldn’t resist, 8.3B pennies would weigh 22,866 tons.
