What does mention strongly even mean??
“I did mention it to him very strongly,” Trump told reporters when asked about the murder. “That was a bad event.”

There's been a rash of that, that if a political cartoon is deemed "too offensive for readers" they are let go. KFAN (sports station in Mpls) talked about this a bit ago. Doesn't matter your opinion, it the general "too offensive for the readers." It sucks. The newspapers would rather fire someone than deal with the fallout.
I don't agree with the firing, but I understand it. Personally, my thoughts are if they weren't comfortable with the cartoon, don't publish it. But as much as I agree with it, I get why it would lead to harsher fallout. That was a very raw photo. It will probably win the Pulitzer, but the average American does not want to be reminded of that connection to the president who they elected. And newspapers are corporate entities so how to the average American these days.
A historic week: first US President to assault a woman in a department store changing room and visit North Korea.
