Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

I wonder what the left will say about him if they don’t get the result they want...

A lot nicer things than we say about you. Dont worry though the Right will say a lot worse and you will parrot it like the brain dead poster you are.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

*Rasmussen* gives Trump his lowest approval rating in a year. Waiting lines at Atlanta's airport is an hour and a half.

That is an awful sign for him and the GOP. That is one of the few polls he was doing well in as near as December. He has lost 5 points in a month. The Shutdown is killing him.

That is why the Dems need to hold strong. No negotiating...no wall or no budget period. No need for Mueller or anything else...the longer he holds out the more likely we see an even bigger crash in 2020 for the GOP than we did in 2018.

And before you think it is clickbait and he didnt actually say that:

"Huge share of government workers were going to take vacation days, say between Christmas and New Year's. And then we have a shutdown and so they can't go to work, and so then they have the vacation but they don't have to use their vacation days," Hassett told PBS during an appearance on "NewsHour."

This clown never had a real job and never had to struggle you can tell.

And I am sick of hearing about "back pay" yeah you get made whole later and that is nice...but right now if you have no money coming in it becomes a real struggle. The more people write off the shutdown because of that the more out of touch they truly are.

Back Pay is meaningless if you've already gone bankrupt or ****ed your credit rating.

If Trump hadn't devolved into the drooling mess he is for the last four years now, I might be willing to buy into him just having the wrong supporting cast.

But no, this is like watching LivePD when they pull over a constitutionalist for no license plate and find needles, scales, baggies, and 10 pounds of meth on the center console.

Trump is whining that the cops can't pull him over or arrest him because they dont have the power, and that the car isn't his, he's being set up, he's never seen that specific bag of meth in his life before.

And here I am watching, rooting for the drug dog to bite him in the a**.

Personally, I'm rooting for the drug dog to bite his throat and not let go until the twitching stops.

One of my Facebook friends has said the majority of the people being locked out are contractors, not on salary. So I guess they don't have to be paid? Seriously, the blindness and stupidity of some people.

Duh, it’s well known trump never pays contractors!!

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

Dr. Mrs. is one of the furloughed workers.

With the TSA formerly suggesting that its employees get various odd jobs, including secret shopper. Coincidentally, my wife signed up for being a secret shopper a few months ago (she thought it would be fun) and just now got her first gig. We had to eat at Baker's Square, and they covered $35 of the tab. Other options she had would have taken some 20 minutes and netter her $3.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

I know this is "out there" for most but ...

https://thehill.com/opinion/judicia...le-hunt-times-bombshell-blows-up-all-theories

Both sides are so sure they know what they know. Any time I see situations like that I start doubting both sides. Seems (Turley) I'm not alone.

This is a ridiculous argument in the face of overwhelming (and yet still continuing to mount daily) evidence that trump is exactly what most of us are saying he is, a money laundering, mentally deficient, possibly seriously mentally ill individual, who has no business running a company let alone sitting in the most powerful office in the world. Yes, cognitive bias is a real thing, and yes it can cloud our thinking on many subjects. But God has gifted me, and most of us here, with the ability to weed through this bias with a little effort, to think critically about the evidence we've been presented, and come to logical, honest, and mostly accurate conclusions about trump. I don't know what is causing the trumpers of the world to believe what they are believing. I suspect what it is, but those of us who see trump for how dangerous he is or can be get accused of being mean when we point it out, so I'll keep those thoughts to myself.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

Hurry? What hurry? For context ... June 17, 1972 to Aug. 8, 1974 -- 27 months

If we use July 2016

We should use May, 2017. Thanks

Make you a deal, I'll keep reading everything that's out there and keep asking for the impeachable evidence to be brought so if we have a Russian plant we remove it; but, you read Turley's piece about confirmation bias with an open mind.

Hmm:

The result is two separate narratives that fed off the actions of each other. There likely was bias in the initial assumptions, with a willingness at the FBI to believe Trump would be a tool of the Russians, and a willingness by Trump to believe the FBI would be a tool of the Clintons. Every move and countermove confirmed each bias. Trump continued to denounce what he saw as a conspiracy. The FBI continued to investigate his obstructive attitude. One side saw a witch hunt where the other saw a mole hunt.

Of course, neither side can accept at this point that they may have been wrong about the other side. In economics that is called path dependence. So much has been built on the Republican and Democratic sides on these original assumptions that it is impossible to now deconstruct from those narratives.

This is an opinion piece that assumes an awful lot. Likely bias? Based upon what? Isn't it likely any initial bias worked in Trump's favor and not the other away around? We know how Trump viewed the ensuing mess - you (and Turly) can only speculate about attitudes and supposed ulterior motives with the FBI. Additionally to claim so much, "has been built" on the, "Democratic side" ignores this is not an investigation initiated by Democrats, dozens of actual indictments (and pleas) have already been handed out and quite frankly there's a hell of a lot more going on here than petty political games. It's actually rather shameful of you do cite such a nonsensical opinion piece as if it should blow everyone's mind.

Baker's Square is still around?

I don't know much about this Turley, but I don't think he's quite a Fox News stooge or anything. It's not like The Hill is InfoWars. It's just one man's opinion piece, and it's not completely crazy.

What we know is this. First, there is no question there is a frenzy in this country over Trump, and it's existed since at least election day. Whether that frenzy is warranted or to what degree is certainly open to debate, because the guy is undoubtedly twisted and crazy.

We know that a substantial number of people associated with him have been convicted of or plead guilty to felonies. In pretty much every case, if I'm not mistaken, the convictions/pleas have been for lying. They were asked about meetings with or communications with or dealings with Russia or people from Russia, and they lied when they gave their answer. These lies have been exposed, and as a result they were convicted of or plead guilty to felonies.

In the case of Cohen, the felonies were campaign finance law violations associated with paying off escorts to keep them silent and preserve Trump's family man reputation?!?

That's really all we know. Convicting someone over lying about a meeting or communications with a Russian doesn't mean that you now have proof that Trump and the Russians colluded to rig the election or Trump is working for the Russians, or Trump is laundering money for the Russians. I know people want to make that leap. I know that people here have already made that leap. It may even turn out to be a correct guess. But, right now it's a guess.

We can sit here and talk about Trump being a puppet of Putin, of Trump being a Manchurian Candidate, of Trump and Putin conspiring to rig the US elections, etc..., but we actually don't know that and all of the blathering and name-calling directed at Sic doesn't get you any closer to it. Furthermore, even the little "it's not been publicly revealed" doesn't get you any closer to it. Until it's publicly revealed, it's nothing. That's why when Sic came in and trolled the chorus by demanding they list the proof, instead of someone simply providing that proof all we got was six pages of name-calling, "you won't accept it when we tell you" responses, blah, blah, blah.

Now, will something come to light? A small part of me hopes so just so I can say I didn't have to sit through all of this to have Mueller tell me that we just don't know. On the other hand, it would be nice to know that our elections haven't been rigged by an outsider. I prefer to keep all the rigging in house, where it's been these past 240+ years.

Iam pretty sure both sides thought he was a good choice and has a good reputation. He has already gotten results. A lot of them. If you are playing Bingo along with Trevor Noah someone wins real soon!

One of my Facebook friends has said the majority of the people being locked out are contractors, not on salary. So I guess they don't have to be paid? Seriously, the blindness and stupidity of some people.
Newt Gingrich said this morning all the Federal workers would get back pay so he didn't think it was a big deal. There I was talking back at the radio. He seriously can't be that stupid so he is willfully malicious. They might get back pay but no one is going to pay the credit card interest or any of the other fees that you rack up when you are late for payment.

No the contractors don't get paid but no problem for tRump there. He never pays. There are lists of those he left in the lurch for years.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

So, bring it already.

I'm waiting for the evidence and the ensuing action by the House (impeachment process).

So no worries about the Emoluments Clause? Dump Inc is taking money in, in a very obvious way, from foreign sources, many of government level. This is a pretty obvious violation of the Constitution. Why does that not bother you?

Then there's the whole line of work that Cohen as pointed out that dealings for a building in Moscow has been going on much longer than anyone has talked about, and that it's been actively been covered up.

dump is the head of dump inc, he never took himself off the board. This is a well known fact. So all of this dump inc stuff is pretty bad.

And you are STILL focused on Muller and conspiracy- that's NOT what he's investigating- but there is a lot of signs that he's finding it. To dig through all of what he's supposed to get into is going to take a long time.
