Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

Do cons realize how broke Boogeyman Soros would be if he brokered every ##&$(#&! leftie protest in this country?

Its Soros now, 2 years ago it was the Koch brothers, I find the 180 swing funny. Besides, to either its chump change

Bingo. Brent is 92% correct. Business ownership by government individuals is one of those things that is a clear conflict of interest and provides one of the biggest motivators and indicators of corruption.

I would change 'should' to 'must'.

You are correct. I should have said "must."

Find me congressman or the President dismissing protesters because the Koch brothers were paying them. It's not the same, but nice try.

I don't think this one's a smoking gun. I think it's pretty normal for the DOD to have space in the president's civilian home -- in this case that also happens to be a Trump business.

Yeah, but Trump is probably jacking up the rate for them.

I'd expect the companies getting those contracts to come from states like Texas, Arizona, etc.. You know, those states occupying the space where the wall will actually be and where those voting conform the Hair Furor's ideals.

Maybe. But most of the companies that have those kinds of resources are massive general contractors. Some of them may be public. It doesn't really matter if they're based in Texas if they're publicly traded.

Maybe but...

Defense officials made similar arrangements for past presidents, including at the Chicago home of Barack Obama, to offer support for day-to-day operations of the president and his staff.

But the prospect of a government agency paying rent to a company owned by the president again raises additional questions about the mingling of Trump’s financial interests with his presidency. Trump led the development of the Fifth Avenue skyscraper in the 1980s and still owns it.

Additionally:

I have never heard of a president charging rent to the DOD or any other part of the government so they can be near him on his travels,” said Richard Painter, a former chief White House ethics counsel under George W. Bush who is part of a lawsuit accusing Trump of violating a constitutional ban for his continued ownership interest in a Washington hotel. “He should give them for free a very limited amount of space and they can rent nearby if needed.”

I see Americans for Prosperity ads and spokesmen quotes regularly. So the Kochs really are involved.

What is Soros' super PAC? I'm genuinely curious, because I don't think I've ever seen one of their ads.

Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

Since nobody here voted for Donald, we all know how disappointing that election was. But even though everyone knew he was a clown, the never ending flow of childish acts and statements coming directly out of that office is just plain stunning. We've all been strongly opposed to presidential policies at times, and many of us have protested, but I never thought I would be embarrassed and ashamed by my own President. It's like finding out the hard way that someone in whom you had placed trust in a business or social capacity is nothing more than a stupid drunk. Again, nobody here voted for him, so none of us ever placed any trust in him, but to the outside world he is our Guy; he's Us.

Add dread to that embarrassment. We don't yet know what "the hard way" is.

Never forget the Slaughter at Fraggle Rock!

Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

What's the point in putting these Trump people on TV when all they say is, "you'll have to ask him" when asked about Trump's thoughts on subjects? That's the whole reason you're on...
