Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

In what universe is it ok to not only force him to open his phone but (according to Homeland Security) force them to give passwords up for online accounts? Small government my ***!

Funny...wherefore art though Frauddy???

As I understand it, this was an Obama-era law and border agents can detain your phone and copy its contents.

That's as big as Government gets. The Republicans have always been liars on that front. And, they get away with it. It is amazing what is actually true and what the American people actually believe. Anyone who saw John Oliver's piece last night shouldn't have been laughing. What they should have been doing is crying.

Remember Scooby, the average GOP voter thinks the "DERN LIBRUL MEDIA" is lying half the time anyways...now they have a super famous guy who is like, a TV star and runs casinos agreeing with them!

Remember what that reporter said from the White House "What does he mean when he says...WORDS!?!?!"

Point of order:
The story says "Since the phone was issued by NASA, it may have contained sensitive material that wasn’t supposed to be shared."

The phone is Government property by that statement and as such is open to warrantless search by Government officials.

However, that search must be done by someone with clearance to look at what it may contain. I strongly doubt the TSA (one step above mall cops) have such. That's the problem. If TSA believed the phone to be the issue they should've seized the phone (again, Government property) for later inspection.

Are you < bleep > kidding me?
A warrantless search (and seizure) of a private device and its information? Even (to extreme) one held by a US citizen returning to the US?

Uh, how does that play in light of Amendment IV?
